How do you make specialty restaurant dinner reservations before your cruise?

I agree, I've never heard that's available pre cruise.

You can't . Make that a first thing to do when you get aboard. RCCL lets you do it on line but for some reason Princess has not done that to there site yet!

In September we boarded the Island being one of the first to board. We went to the specialty restaurant soon after eating lunch to make our reservation. We had gone when we first boarded but they had not opened yet for reservations.

You can't . Make that a first thing to do when you get aboard. RCCL lets you do it on line but for some reason Princess has not done that to there site yet!

RCI also charges a cancelation fee if cancelled within 24 hours & I think it may require pre-payment when booked in advance like their shore excursions...I prefer the Princess procedure & it's easy to book onboard. The only time I've read about problems is if a specialty restaurant is booked by a large group such as a wedding party which may be possible to pre-book.

On Princess you must wait until you are on the ship to make reservations for the Specialty Restaurants.

 

Once on board, Call the DINE-Line. It's quick and easy! :)

This past September a group of us were on the Caribbean Princess, our Dining Room Supervisor overheard us talking about making a reservation for Sabatini's, he asked us what night were we considering then said "no worry, l will take of it for you" not only did he make the reservation, but made sure our wine was also sent there so we wouldn't have to wait. You just have to love the service on Princess ships!!!

Thanks to everyone who answered. We were able to reserve in advance when sailing on other cruise lines - so wondered if this was available for our upcoming Royal Princess cruise.
