Mediterranean port info

We will be on the Marina and I'm wondering which of these ports will have a shuttle to take us to the town center and in which will we be right there walking off the ship?

 

Valencia

Palma

Trapani

Palermo

Valencia had a shuttle to center when we were there - very convenient.

Trapani, you will be right there when you walk off the ship so no need for a shuttle.

 

Palermo is huge, so at the port you will not be in the center of town.

Valencia - a shuttle goes to the center of town not far from the Cathedral and other sites.

 

Palma - I am assuming you are talking about Palma de Mallorca in the Balearics and not La Palma in the Canaries. In Mallorca we had a shuttle from where the ship docked to the main cruise port where the other larger ships docked. From there you could catch local buses to other areas or walk around the town. In the Canaries La Palma you were right in town and didn't need a shuttle.

On our Nov 10-20 Western Med cruise on Marina:

Valencia: free shuttle to stop near town.

Palma de Mallorca: free shuttle to waterfront

Trapani: walkoff

Palermo: walkoff

Civitavecchia: Free shuttle to port gate

Livorno: Free shuttle to Piazza Municipio

Monte Carlo: was a tender port which we missed because of weather

Marseille: Free shuttle to Old Port

 

Seemed like the shuttles were not crowded on first trip, then became more crowded and sometimes a long wait around 10 or 10:30, then less crowded after that.
