Carnival hot chocolate

It's the only way I can tolerate the coffee too. I really wish they'd change how they make it.

Sometimes the coffee on the cart in the casino is good...but I think it's because it sits so long. Next time I'll bring my own French press for coffee. The Americano @ the coffee bar is okay, but I'd rather not have to pay $2+ for it. Some fresh ground coffee and my press should do the trick. ;)

I think the hot chocolate is the best beverage (non alcoholic) on the ship. I drink it year round and sometimes mix it half/half with coffee.

You just gave me a great idea!!

But :Dmy DH said that the only way to drink coffee is Black, nothing in it.

Now I'm second-guessing myself. My last cruise was on the Miracle so I might be thinking of that. Now I'll have to cruise on the Inspiration again to make sure. :)

Inspiration does have the machines. But you still might want to book a cruise. We're going to check in February.

Come on our Feb 8 cruise

Going on the Inspiration with our annual group cruise on the 14. Couldn't have gone if we were still sailing with you on the 8th. Now we get to be Carnival's guinea pigs for the new menus.

Unfortunately the Princess offer was too good to pass up and the itin is unusual.

****

Schnapps are great in the hot chocolate--orange, cherry, peppermint.....

I've watched them fill the machines - it's plain old Nestle.

If anyone out there avoids artificial sweeteners or has a Splenda/sucralose reaction like I do, beware that it contains not only real sugar, but Splenda as well.

Yeah, that is not true...it's plain sugar, with no splenda.

My DH LOVES the Carnival hot chocolate. He swears it is best from the MDR, but also likes it at breakfast on the Lido deck. He will order multiple cups after dinner and if he can't sleep at night, he will go to the Lido deck and get some. Once, I think on the Legend he found one of the machines on the Lido deck worked better than the other one.

Yup, carnival hot chocolate is just as good as always. Lost count of how many cups I had on this last ecstasy sailing. It was 90 degrees with 110% humidity the whole time but the stuff was still out of this world. Some machines have different settings for the size of mug you want to fill up - you can either fill up halfway or get a full cup depending on which button you press. They might mix the powder and water with milk or cream as it is dispensed. I say this because what seems to be milk, sugar, cream comes out before the actual cocoa. I still don't know the exact mixture or even what ingredients are used but it is the best hot chocolate I have ever had anywhere.
