So ny wife calls me and asks if Carnival has called me, I told her no why???

She tells me she just got a call and offered a suite for $500 total with no extra taxes...

So needless to say we are now in a $3400 suite for right at $2100!

We cruise on the 17th, and I can't wait as we've never had a suite .

SCORE!!!! You are going to have an awesome time! We got the upsell call on the Fascination in May it was the best $500 we EVER spent on vacation! I'd do it again in a heartbeat. You guys enjoy your cruise and your suite! ;):D

The only problem is once you do the suite it is REALLLLLLY hard to go back to just a balcony room, trust me I know! The extra room is great, the separate dressing area, lots of closet space, the bigger balcony always make for a great trip.

That's an upsell. Upgrades are free.

You can upgrade and pay for it. Or you can get a free one. I’ve had both. On the Paradise I was upgraded from and OV to a GS for free. Complete surprise when we checked in. With our current cruise, we upgraded from and Inside to a Scenic OV for more money. Either way, it’s an upgrade. Your going from one cabin type to something better. Why rain on OPs parade over wording? It was clearly stated they paid for it.

Congratulations on your suite. That’s gonna be sweeeet! Have a good time.

Whatever it was I'm happy with it lets call it 50% upsell 50% upgrade since if I would of booked it the total would of been $3400ish with taxes and insurance.

We got it from Carnival for $2058 total, taxes insurance and fees included :)

So it was still around $1400 less than it would of been normally

I paid more for our August balcony room on the Conquest than I'm paying for a Suite on the Magic in a week and a half, I'm good with that

No, you're in a $2100 suite for $2100. If they sold it to you for $2100, that's all it's worth. But is sure feels good to think about it the other way. We've all done it!

We got upsold to a suite on our Spirit cruise 2011 and since have cruised at least once a year and back to our old insides. I loved the balcony and extra room. We have however on occasion booked 2 cabins to give is the room back but no Balcony until Oct 2014.

OP enjoy your cruise glad you where given this chance and its fun to try and see what you think. If you happen to hear from the fairy again let them know I'm sailing Sunshine in Jan.
