are there taxi's at the airport or other transportation that will take us to our hotel late (10:45)?

Thanks,

Yes, taxi's will be lined up and waiting. It is simple to find taxis anywhere that you will go. The rates are published so you'll always know the cost in advance.

How much would you guess for a family of 6?

I believe most taxi rates include up to 5 passengers then have a $2 extra person charge, also I think they charge $1 per bag of luggage they carry for you (not small bags, back packs, purses etc) I think from the Airport to OSJ hotels probably $26 + baggage?? Condado area is $21 plus bags. Fairly reasonable though.

It's by zone and airport to terminal and back is within the zone. Price is 19 dollars plus 2 dollars fuel surcharge and 1 dollar per suitcase. Make sure you get the taxi from the taxi dispatcher who will be standing around the terminal and the airport taxi area. When we got the cab from the airport to the pier we skipped the dispatcher and went straight to the cab driver. We were overcharged by 10 dollars and had no idea. On the way back we went to the dispatcher ( standing at the pier) who asked for our destination and gave us a voucher with another copy to the cab driver. The voucher shows the price of the fare. This way they can't rip you off.

So you call the person standing outside to greet tourists a dispatcher. When we arrived the last time at San Juan airport (our first time) we were taken by this person from the airport door to the waiting taxis - a maximum of a few yards, he opened the taxi door, the driver put the luggage in the back, worth a $1 per bag then the "dispatcher" person said quite loudly, tip tip tip. My DH gave him some dollars, I thought it was quite a rip off for escorting us a few yards from the door to the curb. Any thoughts please, were we really ripped off or is this a normal process. Going again soon.
