Taking a Princess Cruise in January. Anyone have experience getting from this port to HOU-Hobby? I understand it is about a half hour from airport and not a busy port like Port Everglades so are we ok with a flight departing at 11:30AM?

Thank you- wasn't getting much of a response so I thought I would try here. Sorry- not really cruise critic savvy yet.:)

** You don't need to apologize there is no and shouldn't be any posting police when it comes to asking any legitimate cruise or travel related questions here CC .

I personally have flown in Hobby a couple of times for Galveston cruises, but have yet to sail of of the port of Houston . But what I understand is that only Princess and NCL sail out of POH, and they appartently don't sail the same day of the week, so that should make a peaceful, and stress free arrival and boarding (IMO)

Enjoy you cruise

NCL doesn't start until next fall and Princess just started within the last month or so. So there is not a real big sample size yet of opinions or reviews. Hobby is closer to the port than IAH is and depending on the route taken 30 min is reasonable to get from air to sea port.

Sent using a small piece of fruit.

Please take into account weather delays. Yesterday the Carribbean Princess was three hours late arriving at the dock because of fog. Check out the Princess boards for the "Live from..." thread.

You could probably make it under normal circumstances, but consider investing in travel insurance that covers your flight if you book an early one.

And know that "travel insurance" will NOT ensure that you get out on the next flight. It will only compensate for monetary losses - and even then, only to the specifics of the policy. Which vary from company to company, policy to policy.

DO NOT assume that "insurance" is the answer to travel problems. It is just a possible financial "after-the-fact" remedy. And it would be long "after".
