To me anyplace an ad appears is ad area. the ad area I mean is between the Cruise Critic Banner and the Notices of course, now it is gone!! It is an ad. I would definitely recommend against downloading it. CC either sells space for ads or we'll all pay to use the site or it goes away altogether. No different than the hundreds of other sites providing content for free. Lou and Dave's web cam site is another example. Never download anything that you haven't requested.
