Rare pasodancer Posted November 24, 2013 #1 Share Posted November 24, 2013 I’ve always seen passengers get those really neat “after dinner drinks” in the swirl type glasses. Can anyone tell me the types of drinks as well as the approximate cost for the souvenir glass?//Maria :)
Rare BecciBoo Posted November 24, 2013 #2 Share Posted November 24, 2013 (edited) Are you referring to these: If so, they can be had at most bars for any cocktail type drink...the new ones are different and have a kind of colored dots on them instead of swirls...like this. But they are the price of the drink plus a little. Or you can just purchase the glasses, sometimes in the gift shop that does liquor or at bars on the ship. After dinner drinks aperitifs etc are now served in these: Sorry but I dont' recall the exact cost...but nothing earth shattering a few dollars, 2 or 3. Rare pasodancer Posted November 24, 2013 Author #3 Share Posted November 24, 2013 That's it!!!! Thank you - thinking of getting them this time around (upcoming cruise). Just checked them out on eBay and I have a feeling they will be cheaper on the ship!
Rare BecciBoo Posted November 24, 2013 #4 Share Posted November 24, 2013 (edited) I'm thinking under $10 with the drink!...don't keep track of those things....I have every color of the swirls and most of the aperitif glasses as well.:p But I haven't seen the swirls in a while, they might not be available, just the new ones with the dots. So if you MUST have them, ebay is it...sorry. Edited November 24, 2013 by BecciBoo

Gayle V Posted November 24, 2013 #6 Share Posted November 24, 2013 Take some bubble wrap for packaging for the trip home. We got two of them on our Mariner cruise a few years back. Only one survived the trip home. I still have it on the book shelf in my family room, right next to our cruise photo.
Jasp 0401 Posted November 24, 2013 #7 Share Posted November 24, 2013 On my last cruise it cost about $9 for the cocktail of the day and you got to keep the pretty glass.
July4 Posted November 24, 2013 #8 Share Posted November 24, 2013 If we have the drink package - I assume we have to pay extra for glass? What is the cost, Thanks

On our Nov. 3rd cruise on the Explorer, our cabin attendant was giving out bubble wrap to any passengers who asked for it. That was really nice. Alohaaloha Posted November 24, 2013 #10 Share Posted November 24, 2013 As we left our cruise ship last September, one of the room stewards gave us four of these that had been left behind, we were delighted, they're very cute.

Rare BecciBoo Posted November 24, 2013 #12 Share Posted November 24, 2013 I purchased xtras from the liquor store so I would have every color and he packed them in the box they came in (4 to a box), then I just hand carried them in my Vera bag onto the plane with me. I would not pack them in the checked bags.

crookedhalo Posted November 25, 2013 #15 Share Posted November 25, 2013 Last sea day there is usually a set up in the shops area where you can buy them in the box (sans alcohol unfortunately:rolleyes:), we used this to collect the colors we were missing on the shot glasses :D
Rare Teeara Posted November 25, 2013 #16 Share Posted November 25, 2013 The glasses are great. I use mine throughout the year both for drinks as well as for special salads or shimp cocktail.

AeroBaldness Posted November 25, 2013 #18 Share Posted November 25, 2013 Plenty can be had on eBay. I grabbed a few of these for a Royal themed mother's day gift for my wife last year with a bunch of other logo items and gear.

Fionna Posted November 25, 2013 #20 Share Posted November 25, 2013 Love reading about how everyone uses their glasses... I bought one to work and it holds my paperclips. :) Nice little cruise reminder during the work day. hehe

Me and by brother, $30 later, we had 6 glasses to bring home. Great souvenirs for family, as we kept one each, parents left with one each, and our g/f's at home got one. I sip Jack Daniels, so the drink itself was lacking, but I digress.
