Cruise out of Baltimore in March

We want to go on a cruise 3/9-3/16 & was wondering how cold it is leaving baltimore & for how many days. Looks like your 2 days at sea before you get to Port Canaveral.

Frani,

I've cruised out of Baltimore in Feb and September. Weather in March could be 40 degrees or 70 degrees.

It takes a good full day to get nice weather. Maybe you should try sailing on the Splendor. It has the retractable pool roof.

However, Baltimore is a great port to spend an extra day or two in! Awesome seafood in Inner Harbour. Lots to see and do.

Cheers!

Definitely not hang out by the pool weather. March can be pretty chilly, usually the average high temperature in March is around 50 degrees and low is in the 30's. Whenever we have sailed from Baltimore usually the first 2 and the last 2 days are quite chilly in the winter.

That is why we always travel to Florida for our colder month cruises.

We cruised out of Baltimore March 18th last year (Splendor). Sailaway is COLD! Sea day #1 Windy and cold. By sea day #2 it warmed up in the afternoon but it was still windy. - The covered pool area on the Splendor was divine, we spent a lot of time in there. The temp was just right. Day 3 was Florida and it was in the upper 70's but cloudy. The bahamas was +- 80. The sail back days were in reverse LOL and we came home with a snow covered pool deck (great pic opp) ;)

The weather was never "HOT TROPICS" but it was better than what we left at home!!!

Thanks for the Info BigDog!

I've been on Pride twice out of Baltimore and never noticed!!

When I'm cruising my powers of observation take a hiatus as well, it seems!

Safe travels!!

March is really a very iffy month on the East Coast. As someone mentioned, it can be 48 degrees or even 70 degrees. Be prepared by checking the weather on weather.com or your local News station. If you are driving and leaving your car at the port, you can always bring a heavy jacket and leave it in the car (if it's really cold that day), or you can dress in layers until you get on the ship. The great thing to remember is that you wont be in cold weather very long. As soon as you sail away, remember that you will be in warm weather shortly! Hae a wonderful cruise!
