dguire Posted November 28, 2013 #1 Share Posted November 28, 2013 Can anyone confirm if HAL sells liquor by the bottle from room service? The all inclusive drink program is just too expensive for the amount we drink. Still looking at rumrunners flasks but have not purchased yet. In the end would rather just buy a bottle on board. Rare Hlitner Posted November 28, 2013 #2 Share Posted November 28, 2013 Yes, you can order bottles from room service, but the prices are quite a bit higher then the duty-free prices in the shop.
dguire Posted November 28, 2013 Author #3 Share Posted November 28, 2013 Thanks for the confirmation. In the duty free shops on the ships, I thought they always held purchases until the end of cruise?
boulders Posted November 28, 2013 #4 Share Posted November 28, 2013 HAL allows you to preorder liquor by the bottle for delivery to your cabin. They have quite an extensive collection.
CruiserBruce Posted November 28, 2013 #5 Share Posted November 28, 2013 All the info you have received here is right on. In the future, you will find a lot of info over on the HAL board, here: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=

I believe they do hold it until the end of the cruise.
sail7seas Posted November 29, 2013 #7 Share Posted November 29, 2013 Liquor purchased in duty free shop is held until the end of the cruise. However, HAL permits guests to either order in advance of boarding bottles of liquor they can consume in their cabin or can purchase from room service for consumption in cabins. Rare Hlitner Posted November 29, 2013 #8 Share Posted November 29, 2013 Yep, they will not let you have the stuff you buy in the duty-free shop which is a darn shame. But they have not problem selling you a lot of the same stuff to use in your cabin, but at a much higher price :( Hank
MermaidWatcher Posted November 29, 2013 #9 Share Posted November 29, 2013 Yes, you can order bottles from room service, but the prices are quite a bit higher then the duty-free prices in the shop. I believe the poster was referring to liquor for consumption. Purchases from the duty free shop or any shop at a port will be held until the end of the sailing.
