The Swan Valley Food & Wine Trail Tour if offered in Fremantle for those staying on board for a B2B. For those of you that may have taken this tour, which wineries/breweries did you stop at?

The Swan Valley Food & Wine Trail Tour if offered in Fremantle for those staying on board for a B2B. For those of you that may have taken this tour, which wineries/breweries did you stop at?

 

I have not done this tour with a Cruise but via a tour company Captain Cook cruises and we went to the Sandalford and the Water's Edge wineries.

The ship's tour is most likely to use one of the local companies, there are several other tour companies that offer a food and wine tour such as

I might be biased being from Perth but any winery you go to in the Swan Valley will be good.

 

We have done a few tours when we have had overseas visitors & had great fun on them.

 

Yes the Captain Cook wine cruise is worth a look at. You can catch a train from Freo & walk to the Barrack St Jetty which is next to the Bell tower. There was plenty of good food & plenty of wine tasting. There was even singing & dancing on the way back.

 

If there is a tour going Margaret River wineries that word be my first choose. A bit of a drive but an interesting one.

We did two Captain Cook river cruises out of Perth while there in Feb 2013 prior to our Solstice cruise. We enjoyed them very much. The wine cruise up the Swan was great. We visited Sandalford and I think Water's Edge. The other cruise went down to Freemantle, which was nice.

They do a good job, with crew that sing quite well, of course the alcohol does help in getting everyone in the mood.:D

Just a clarification - I wasn't asking which wineries/breweries to be choosey or snobbish :) I'm a geocacher and if I knew which wineries/breweries we would be going to I could check to see if there were any caches nearby - not that I'm obsessed with geocaching or anything :o

Wouldn't have guessed with that moniker.

Some tours alternate between some of the wineries. A firend was taken to Houghtons as one of the two stops so I think it depends on who the ship's tour is with and what other bookings the wineries have on the day you visit.:D
