Rare trbarton Posted December 13, 2013 #1 Share Posted December 13, 2013 Anybody know when they had a luau on the cruise? Thanks! Tom
Cruiserkenn Posted December 13, 2013 #2 Share Posted December 13, 2013 (edited) Not exactly a luau, but it is a very nice evening, the night in Honolulu. A wonderful dance group comes onboard, and they perform in the theater. (Others on this board will remember the name of the group, composed of young people and young mothers.) The buffet has Hawaiian food that night, very good. Then there is a deck party for sail away. A very nice evening. No kidding. My experience was on the Sapphire last March, but other descriptions made it sound similar on the Golden. There is usually a luau available as a shore excursion in Honolulu. Enjoy! Aloha :) Edited December 13, 2013 by Cruisin'Rabbit
Cruiserkenn Posted December 14, 2013 #3 Share Posted December 14, 2013 I found the name of the Hawaiian dance group that comes on board in Honolulu. They are: Halau Hula Olana. This group is just fantastic, so don't miss them for some real Hawaiian culture.

Cruisin' Chick Posted December 15, 2013 #5 Share Posted December 15, 2013 I have been on three Hawaiian cruises and haven't heard on any luau on board. There is the ultimate deck party, but the last cruise, there was no food spreads.
