LostAgain Posted December 13, 2013 #1 Share Posted December 13, 2013 (edited) So many travel articles talk about what not to eat or drink while vacationing in Mexico. But I never see this mentioned on CC. In April, we will be at Mr. Sanchos' for the second time. Last time, we drank only the bottled water that we brought with us, and didn't eat. I would love to try a nice, cool alcoholic beverage or some guacamole, but not if there is a chance of getting sick. Actually, I should reword that -- I realize that there is always a chance of getting sick, even with eating at home. But what are the risks, really, at a place like Mr. Sanchos? Has anybody ever been sick after being there? Edited December 13, 2013 by LostAgain
OCruisers Posted December 13, 2013 #2 Share Posted December 13, 2013 We've been going to Cozumel for ages and have never been sick from any of the food or drinks there. :) LuLu ~~~~
JohninDC Posted December 14, 2013 #3 Share Posted December 14, 2013 All of the tourist bars, beach clubs and restaurants use purified water for cooking/ice, etc. and we've never had an issue with food poisoning -- although sometimes the 9th margarita tends to give me a headache! :o

thescot123 Posted December 14, 2013 #7 Share Posted December 14, 2013 Also been to Cozumel many times before and had the same fears that you had the first time. Have know eaten food everytime that I go there and never had any issues. Just make sure that you go to a well known establishment and avoid street vendors. LostAgain Posted December 14, 2013 Author #8 Share Posted December 14, 2013 Thanks for the reassurance, everybody. As you said, if there was a problem, it would be discussed here on CC, but I just needed to ask the question.
