Towels for Excursions?

Just keep in mind that if they disappear, you will be charged for them.

They would never know if the towels disappear.

Often there is a bin for used towels after security when returning to the ship. Nobody records who puts towels in the bin. Used towels are also often left on the pool deck.

I guess I'm remembering from when the stewards would keep track of them.

On RCCL there are no beach towels in your cabin.

To get one, you need to present your cruise card to an attendent on the pool deck. If the towel is not returned to the attendent by the last evening of the cruise, you do get charged.

^^^ This! RCCL is not towel friendly. Many people get charged for towels after they are off the ship even though they returned the towels. We almost got charged because their card swiping machine "needed a reboot"

I just went snorkeling on Bora Bora and Moorea and every single person on that snorkel boat had the standard Princess issue blue and white striped towels with them. They don't bat an eye if you take them when you go ashore. There was, however, a notice put in the Patter stating if you DID take the pool towels ashore to be sure to bring them back.

I noticed a few people who took pool towels ashore decided to deposit them in the bin provided for the cool washcloths we were offered at the gangplank, so they didn't make them haul wet towels back to their cabin.
