georgia dawg Posted December 17, 2013 #1 Share Posted December 17, 2013 Afraid arrival time in Vancover does not leave time to fly. Anyone know of ground transportation to Seattle to spend the night?

PotatoBug Posted December 17, 2013 #3 Share Posted December 17, 2013 You can see if this works with your schedule: Quick Coach We've used them several times between the cities.

We've used them several times also. They'll have buses waiting right there at Canada Place when you get off the ship.. Super easy..
vmom Posted December 17, 2013 #5 Share Posted December 17, 2013 We've used the princess transfers. Using the transfers makes going over the border fast since passengers go directly from the ship to the bus and the bus is then closed with a seal until the border is crossed. That allows the bus to go into the express area and not have to go through the wait at the border.

The only time we did a Princess transfer our bus was not "sealed" for some reason. We had to wait hours in line.
more cruises Posted December 17, 2013 #7 Share Posted December 17, 2013 We love using Amtrak - be sure you get the train, not the bus. We take the sky train from the ship to the Amtrak station and drop off our bags, then we have the day to spend in exploring in Vancouver before our late afternoon train. Rare Gardyloo Posted December 17, 2013 #8 Share Posted December 17, 2013 greyhound or amtrak Or Quick Coach or rental car. If you rent a car you can drop it at Sea-Tac and take a more scenic route from Vancouver to Seattle than either the buses or the train covers. SadieN Posted December 17, 2013 #9 Share Posted December 17, 2013 Check out the cost of flying out of Vancouver v trip, hotel and flight out of Seattle. I was surprised that the cost to LAX was the same. YMMV (Of course this assumes you only staying the night in Seattle.)
scottbee Posted December 19, 2013 #10 Share Posted December 19, 2013 Flights TO the United States will be somewhat higher than flying out of the US. This is because there's quite a high level of taxation placed on arriving international flights (about $40) by the US Govt, and a slightly higher AIF (about $10) on international departing flights from Canada. northwestbear Posted December 19, 2013 #11 Share Posted December 19, 2013 You can also try the "Bolt" bus. The prices start out very cheap and increase as the bus fills. Very nice buses and free wifi. The train is great, but you will not make the morning train and will have to wait for the evening train that leaves after 5:00pm and does not get to Seattle until late evening. Customs tends to be easiest on the train. The cruise line transportation is very convenient, but tends to be expensive. mapleleaves Posted December 19, 2013 #12 Share Posted December 19, 2013 options include: Amtrak Cascades train, Amtrak Cascades bus, Quick Coach, Bolt Bus, one-way car rental, or fly ( alaska/horizon air). Be mindful of the arrival/departure locations as it may require a taxi to reach. ie in Seattle you might be dropped off downtown which is about 30 minutes north of the airport.
