CruiserBruce Posted December 30, 2013 #2 Share Posted December 30, 2013 What cruise line? Doing some reading on the board for the cruise line you are sailing on will provide tons of info.

cb at sea Posted December 30, 2013 #4 Share Posted December 30, 2013 (edited) On most cruiselines, the shows are scheduled around the 2 traditional seating times. If you choose that, you will never have to worry about missing a show. If you choose a form of "anytime" dining, you will have to schedule YOUR dinner around whichever show you wish to see...the times will be listed in the daily newsletter. For example, main seating will see the show AFTER dinner, and late seating will see the show BEFORE dinner. trish1c Posted December 30, 2013 #6 Share Posted December 30, 2013 If the shows are very important to you, consider booking traditional dining. The anytime dining rooms get very crowded & often have a wait when you are trying to eat at a time that will allow you to see the shows.
paul929207 Posted December 30, 2013 #7 Share Posted December 30, 2013 so basically its a personal preference thing Yes, just look at the time for the shows on your ship and you can schedule your dinner time to work with the shows.
Buck Turgidson Posted December 31, 2013 #8 Share Posted December 31, 2013 (edited) If you want to enjoy the shows I suggest avoiding the late dining. Whenever we have gotten out of late dining (especially if you have a slow waiter) we have found that seating will be limited for the show due to folks there from the early dinner, buffet diners and those that beat you to it from late dining. Just my observations. Edited December 31, 2013 by Buck Turgidson
Krazy Kruizers Posted December 31, 2013 #9 Share Posted December 31, 2013 We haven't done shows in years. But when we did, we chose to eat at the early fixed dining time. That way if the service was slow and we missed the first show, then we knew that we could make the next show.
Gunner22aa Posted December 31, 2013 #10 Share Posted December 31, 2013 For the longest time we always had early fixed seating as our dinner option. We have since changed to anytime for a couple of reasons. On shore days we don't have to rush back and get ready for dinner which we have had to do on a number of occasions. Most importantly we don't have to worry about our tablemates waiting their dinner on us if we have decided to dine at another venue on a particular evening and haven't told them in advance out of courtesy. It just seems to work better for us now.
