We should have been there on Aurora, but unfortunately my wife had an operation for mouth cancer on Christmas Eve. However, we have rebooked the cruise for next Christmas/New Year. We are determined to see that fireworks display. I'm pleased to report that my wife came through the operation very well, and is making good progress. she should be back home by the weekend.

So sorry to hear about your wife, I am sure she will make a full recovery.

Hopefully 2014 will be a bit kinder to you both and I am sure you will really enjoy your re-booked cruise.

Look after yourselves:)

Hi Dorsetlad, we will be joining you for Xmas 2014, always wanted to do a Christmas cruise, see Madeiras fireworks on NYE, and sail on Aurora. 3 boxes ticked.

Pleased to hear your wife's operation went well please wish her a speedy recovery from my husband and myself.

Thanks for all your kind thoughts. Yes it has been a nightmare; and the road ahead is going to be difficult, but not as difficult as it could have been. We now have something definite to concentrate our minds over the coming months.PopsiB perhaps we will meet on board. we will be the couple looking like the cat that got the cream.

Hi TOMOGP,

There are a few of us now on this thread on next Christmas, I will see if I can start a thread in the roll call section.

Enjoy Oriana in Spring.
