Hello~ :)

Anyone who has experience sailing from and/or to Istanbul recently, please tell me about the VISA for Turkey.

What should I do to get the VISA?

Who can I ask for?

I wonder if Celeberity Cruise Line can do it for me if I pay for it.

Thank you and Happy New Year~!!!:D

Yes, you can get a visa when you fly into the Istanbul airport, Ataturk. Usually it's very quick, but there can be lines.

We applied and got an e-visa online prior to departing. It cost $20 (last Sept). It is good for 90 days starting on entry date. Your USA Passport needs to be good for at least 90 days past expiration date of the visa.

Since it was good for 90 days, we put a date a week before the cruise Depature date so we could spend time in Turkey before (and after) the cruise if we wished.

You do not need a visa if your ship isn't departing from or ending in a a Turkish port, but just making a port call.

We loved Istanbul and found it safe and very very interesting.

Den.

Just to add a different view, when we arrived in Istanbul in November the line for Visas was very long. We were glad we had gotten the online Visa. We showed the printout Visa and the agent stamped our passports.
