Deb24370 Posted January 1, 2014 #1 Share Posted January 1, 2014 Sailing as a Family for a very special occasion to celebrate my in laws 60th wedding Anniversary. sailing with them are all their children and other halves 8 of us in total as a group. Looking for something or an idea that will make it memorable for them. We were going to have a surprise Renewal of Vows but realised how expensive it was and really for not a lot of worth. Not even a complimentary Photo !! Any ideas what we could do to mark this special occasion whilst on board the beautiful Freedom Of The Seas? Anyone brought special anniversary packages ? Clarea Posted January 1, 2014 #3 Share Posted January 1, 2014 Also mention the anniversary to the MDR waiter. That will get you some singing.
Ken at the beach Posted January 1, 2014 #4 Share Posted January 1, 2014 To put the announcement in the daily compass go to guest relations the first day. There is a $25 fee and space is limited.
drmomsc Posted January 1, 2014 #5 Share Posted January 1, 2014 Book a family photo shoot if you can, or at least arrange to have everyone's picture taken on formal night. Then, give the photo in one of the ship's frames. Or, buy the photo CD in advance, so they have all of the pictures taken on your cruise.

mailmama Posted January 1, 2014 #8 Share Posted January 1, 2014 We booked Chops grill for the first night (group gets a lower rate). Bring on your own wine and celebrate in style. We did this for our son's wedding reception. They had married earlier that day on the ship. Very special meal, quiet and semi-private and everyone can join in!! Also surprise the couple by copying some old pictures of them over the years and put them on magnets. Everyday "sneak" a new one on their door so by end of the week, they have a collection of themselves over the 60 years.
TEXASMUNK Posted January 1, 2014 #9 Share Posted January 1, 2014 in the Newly Wed game...and then have the CD present them with flowers, and a certificate for a photo session.. at 60 years married, they are a lock to be one of the three couples selected...and you can get to the CD in advance and arrange for the flowers, etc.
jmf123 Posted January 1, 2014 #10 Share Posted January 1, 2014 Definitely booking dinner at Chops Grille would be great. I would also consider checking out Gifts & Gear, and surprising your in-laws by having Anniversary stateroom decorations in their room upon their arrival. There are other little gifts too, such as chocolate-covered strawberries, flowers, or even pairs of Royal Caribbean slippers to provide some comfort during the cruise! We always bring a battery-operated candle or two for the stateroom. It adds nice atmosphere, as well as safety at night. Have a great family cruise! cb at sea Posted January 1, 2014 #11 Share Posted January 1, 2014 I can't imagine that 60 years isn't special enough to remember! And, if they want to renew vows....they can just do it...you don't NEED to pay a thing to tell each other that you will continue to love each other!
