spookey Posted January 3, 2014 #1 Share Posted January 3, 2014 We are book in cabin 8590 obstructed view sideways cabin. Would like to know if anyone has stayed in a cabin of this type? Any comments or info on this cabin will be greatly appreciated.
djmess Posted January 3, 2014 #2 Share Posted January 3, 2014 I was in Cabin 8094. Here is a link to pics I posted in a Thread on Obstructed OV cabins http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1853399&highlight=jewel
crystalspin Posted January 3, 2014 #3 Share Posted January 3, 2014 There is one review of your cabin, and a short one of 8094 (similar cabin on the starboard side) halfway down this page: http://www.cruisecritic.com/cabinguru/deckplanreviews.cfm?ShipID=350&Category=G

trish1c Posted January 3, 2014 #6 Share Posted January 3, 2014 We stayed in a similar one on the Gem. It was a handicapped cabin though, which we got assigned when we did a guarentee. I didn't care for it. The water leaked from the bathroom into the cabin due to lack of barriers. The need to put a movable rubber stopper & that block the water while the shower is running. Anyway, the cabin slept 4. There was a trundle bed under one side of our bed, which cut the underbed storage space. Another bed folded down from the wall but that was above where our heads were. You could not sit up in bed comfortably even when the upper bunk was folded away. It was too low to fit your head under but too bulky & far away from the wall so if you sat up there was nothing to rest your back against. Every pillow in the cabin still didn't fit to make a support.
biker@sea Posted January 3, 2014 #7 Share Posted January 3, 2014 Our last Obstructed O/V deck 8 on Dawn kept the lights on by the life boats outside our window forcing us to close the shades at night to sleep . Kinda defeats upgrading from an Inside cabin.
