Toddlers and Specialty Dining

Recommended Posts

Yes, everyone is charged the service charge, regardless of age. If this was not the case and children did not have to pay, the specialty restaurants would be filled with young ones at all times. You may find someone here who comes along and says they were not charged; honestly, it's not my business but as a general rule all guests are charged.

Not an issue for the OP as she is sailing on the Freedom. It is only Chefs Table and 150 Central Park that have age restrictions any more.

In Feb. children were charged and families with children had to book before 6:30.

I recognize that RCI is consistently inconsistent, but their FAQ seems pretty straight forward

Q: Are children allowed to dine in our Specialty Restaurants?

A: Children with a parent or guardian are welcome in our specialty restaurants throughout serving hours. The only exceptions are Chef's Table which requires all guests to be 21 years of age or older, and 150 Central Park which requires families with children under 13 years of age to dine before 7 p.m. Reservations can be made online or onboard at the restaurant based on availability.

Is there a charge for children under 3 in the specialty restaurants?

I'm pretty sure there is a charge. Your credit card will automatically be charged when you book...this is not added to your on-board charges. You can be in and out in less than 1 1/2 hours. I seem to remember that the latest ressie they accept for small children is 6:45. That was a few years ago so it may have changed.

I don't think there is a charge for toddlers in Giovanni's table. If planning on going have a plan to entertain your little one. It tends to take a long time to eat. Good luck and enjoy:-)

We were not charged on Allure for our 1 year old when we had lunch there last May. We also were not charged for her at Johnny Rockets.
