Mdchris Posted January 6, 2014 #1 Share Posted January 6, 2014 We are going to be staying at port of Miami Holiday Inn pre-cruise. Can someone give me an Idea of where we could walk to in order to get our allotted soda and wine? Also I'd be interested in any suggestions for non- chain restaurants as well. vwrestler171 Posted January 6, 2014 #2 Share Posted January 6, 2014 (edited) Across the street at Bayside Marketplace they have a nice restaurant called The Knife, which is an Argentine Steakhouse. There is also a CVS and Walgreens not too far from there. Can't remember exactly where, but I do know it is in walking distance. CruisinKelly Posted January 6, 2014 #3 Share Posted January 6, 2014 Just walk downtown (to the right out the front door) for the CVS and downtown stores. Also Bayside Market is a fun place to eat and shop right across the street.
henepup Posted January 6, 2014 #4 Share Posted January 6, 2014 There are also two liquor stores downtown.
czimm Posted January 6, 2014 #5 Share Posted January 6, 2014 Bayside is a large mall, with many shops and restaurants. There is plenty to see and do, and good restaurants there. Have a great trip!
eandj Posted January 6, 2014 #6 Share Posted January 6, 2014 (edited) http://www.baysidemarketplace.com/ The touristy outoor "mall" is a place to bide a few hours. Mostly chain restaurants. See the directory above. The newest CVS is right down the street from the HI. Not a huge selection of wine, but basics at good prices. If you have time, you can pick up water tours of the area at Bayside too. Edited January 6, 2014 by eandj
brunello22 Posted January 6, 2014 #7 Share Posted January 6, 2014 (edited) Within walking distance ... If you like Peruvian food and ceviche, Ceviche 105 is a couple blocks away from the hotel. The same owner operates the restaurant next door, Pollos y Jarras. Fratelli Milano is excellent for authentic Italian food. The outside bar area of the Area 31 restaurant at the Epic hotel, has stunning views of downtown Miami at sunset. Good happy hour specials too! You can catch a Heat game at the AAA, but if not, there is an upscale Asian restaurant across the street from the arena, at the base of one of the condos. There are also a number of restaurants along Biscayne Blvd, north of the hotel, just a 5-minute taxi ride away ... City Hall, The Daily, Bin 18.
