Super bowl on the sapphire?????

We will be on the Sapphire to Mexico on Super Bowl Sunday. What are the chances they will have it on in the ship??? Maybe in the Casino??? My DH will be disappointed if he misses it...myself not so much :D:D:D

100% that it will be on if the satellite reception is there.

 

But do not expect it in the casino. It will be on MUTS and likely in one of the theaters.

Our email from our cruise director indicates that we will be having a Super Bowl Tailgate party including special tailgate fare, trivias and more. I know it will be on the Grand. Suspect is will be on all ships that can connect with the satellite. :D

We have been on Princess ships for several Super Bowls. Muts has it of course but you have to find a decent chair(s) early as the sun-worshipers usually tie them up around Lido. If the weather is clear & warm with a 3:25 west coast start outside is best. There is always one lounge (Fushion or one of those but not the Princess Theater) & this is a pretty nice party with decorations popcorn & other party food. Better make late dinner reservations as it always runs 4+ hours. We were on the ship in Feb of 2013 & early seating was MT(according to our waiter) & when we got to late seating it was mostly MT as ate pizza & every thing else during the game. You will not however get any commercials which is a drag as most folks love them. ESPN has the game rights but not the commercial rights. have fun! Princess always does a nice job on this!

In 2011 we were on the Golden to Hawaii. The Packer rally party was in Explorers while the Steelers party was at Muts. I am not sure if it was played in another public venue. I do know it was not broadcast in individual cabins because of NFL licensing restrictions.....
