TrumpyNor Posted April 8, 2014 #151 Share Posted April 8, 2014 (edited) I still find the mushroom soup they serve in Le Bistro delicious - but it was even better when served in a bowl made of bread. They stopped with the "breadbowl" a few years ago, the enclosed photo is from 2008. I totally understand that they change the menu in specialty restaurants - unfortunately that means that they also removed the amazing Crepes Suzette Flambée from the dessert menu in Le Bistro. I miss it dearly....! :p Edited April 8, 2014 by TrumpyNOR
Rare blackwing Posted April 8, 2014 #152 Share Posted April 8, 2014 I loved those little cones in LeBistro! The best one by far to me was the one with the duck. I also really loved the Salmon Tartare in the main dining room. It was a little salty, but had a lot of avocado and was fantastic.

A plate with Nothing written in chocolate sauce? That's great :) love it. Fabulous cabana, btw. barnacle_boy Posted April 19, 2014 #159 Share Posted April 19, 2014 I'm looking for a pic of the lobster roll from the Waterfront at Ocean Blue. I'm used to east coast mayo filled lobster rolls and I hear this one is different and delish. Ocean Blue on the Waterfront's Lobster Roll. Since they don't cook the homemade chips long enough at the proper temperature, they come out soggy. The roll itself was very good, but I don't think I'd pay $9.75 to have it again. chris_kelowna Posted April 20, 2014 #161 Share Posted April 20, 2014 Well, we were just on the Jade for a Med cruise. We did not eat in any specialty restaurants. Most of the food looked a lot better than it tasted. It's true, if you don't like something you can send it back. That would have happened most meals. The fish was terribly overdone, the shrimp on the surf and turf was breaded and deep fried, the broccoli was yellow, the salad greens were brown, the molten lava cake was solid. I was told the mushroom soup was good but the onion soup had no crouton or cheese on it. Often the food was lukewarm. This was all in the MDRs. The Garden Café was a little better. I was not at all impressed with the food, can you tell?!?

I felt bad about not getting one when I was on Breakaway but now I know I avoided some serious disappointment. A wonderful picture, though! Really promotes the topic of this thread. :-) Edited April 20, 2014 by Valen9

Hmmm, when I was on the Breakaway in June the lobster roll was *sooooooo* good and according to your photo mine had much more lobster in it. So much so that it was overflowing. NYVikingchick Posted April 24, 2014 #171 Share Posted April 24, 2014 What we loved were the caesar salad at Grand Pacific. Creme Brulee and chocolate fondue from Le Bistro and pretty much every steak we had. What I liked specificly were the escargot at Le Bistro, the Teriyaki Burger (the Hawaiian burger someone else talked about they called a teriyaki burger on the Gem last month) I had one every time I was a little hungry after I had my first one and loved it. And of cours all the fresh fruit. Hubby liked the two penne dishes he had at Grand Pacific and their salmon bagel in the morning there. There was another dessert we really liked in the main dining room, but I forgot what it was.

The Islanders Posted April 24, 2014 Author #173 Share Posted April 24, 2014 One night we went to Moderno (the Brazilian steakhouse). Our server was a very sweet young lady named Liberty. She was very nice and helped make the evening fabulous. Note: Bring your appetite and don't fill up at the salad bar which would be very easy to do!:p Small sample from salad bar The sides Chicken. SOOOO Good! Juicy and nicely seasoned. Sausage. Was good, but save yourself for the better stuff later. BBQ ribs. I passed because I knew they wouldn't compare to mine. DW said they were good.
