Deck and Cabin selection on Oasis

Hi!

We are two families with kids (11,8 and 2) who are looking to book on Oasis for December 2014. This is our 2nd cruise on RRCL, with our earlier one of Mariner OTS. We had aft balconies on deck 7, and loved the location and the huge balconies!!

We are still looking to book oceanview balconies and wanted to get recommendations on which decks and location of cabins we should look at (our primary criteria being low level of noise, less movement, unobstructed views and ease of getting to elevators). There seems to be not much options left, though.. we have slim pickings. But would like to choose the best amongst everything available :)

Thanks!

A

One thing I learned-RC changed their online booking. They don't show all their rooms online. So pick out your room and then call. We'll be on the allure in march (2nd time) and we have the same room both times-The last cabin on the boardwalk. It has the aqua show view as well as a beautiful ocean view.

This time were traveling with an 18 mo old, so I figured that would let us people watch while she is sleeping.

Also, for that many guests I'd think about getting a connecting room if you can spring for it. I found that Allure(and oasis) rooms are alot tighter on space than the older ships.

Boardwalk is on deck 6. The Aqua Theater is there, Johnny Rockets and various activities that are family friendly. That should be a favorite deck for the kids, you are traveling with. DH and I book cabins on deck 6, just aft of the aft elevators.

Deck 6 is a great location. A short walk up the stairs to Central Park (Park Cafe). The parades can be viewed from the railing on deck 6. The parades on on deck 5, Promenade deck. Deck 5 is a short flight of stairs from deck 6. The Pizza shop and Promenade cafe are there, as well as assorted shops and other live entertainment. You will has easy access to the main dining room, as it to is in the aft of the ship. You will only be 2 floors from the casino and the other entertainment places - Comedy and Jazz clubs and Studio B.

The only areas you will not be close to are the pool deck, sports area, Windjammer and the kids and teens clubs.

Thanks for the recommendations! Deck 6 seems too happening a place for my little one though :) - she is a light sleeper. I was thinking a deck further up - one with lesser foot traffic while still allowing us to see some interesting stuff. Thanks a lot!!

I would sit down with everybody, bring up the ship deck plans from the RCI site and have everyone decide what they want to do the most, and then pick cabins/deck near what you decide.

All D 1-8 cat ov balcs are the exact same size, just different locations

Can anyone tell me about deck 10- D7 category? We are booked in room 10698. I assume that is deck 10. We have never cruised on RC so, I have no idea the pros or cons of this room. Thanks in advance.

We have stayed in 10728, also a D7 on deck 10. Our room was the last one aft. down the hall next to the aqua suites. Your room is located half way down the hall from the elevators, towards the aft, starboard side. Not as much foot traffic and very quiet. We always book aft rooms, one for the exercise and two, I guess that allows us to eat more. :D
