Breakaway vs Gem embarking

Is embarking on the Gem different from the Breakaway? We were on the Breakaway in October and it was a breeze. Is it in the same place(drop off, check in areas, etc)? We are CAS cruisers and it was very easy for us on the Breakaway. Also are the times the same? We got there around 11:00 and were on board by 11:30. Thanks for any info.

Yup; have done both and they're the same. Gem has been boarding around noon as of late, but that can always vary.

If there are 2 NCL ships in port the same day (though it's rare), you may go to a farther counter on the left to check in vs. the closer one on the right. :)

we did both in 2013 and found no difference with embarkation other than for priority - on the gem we had to stand in the priority queue to check in then walk to a room to get the cards and on breakaway we were sent straight to the room to check in

The cas line was on the right on both

If it is the same set up, then I am sure our Gem embarkation will be super quick, with that many fewer guests. I was really impressed with the Breakaways process. Like I said earlier it only took 30 minutes from curbside to O'Sheenans.
