A little dense about ordering at the Italian restaurant

Looking at the Italian restaurant menu on the Sun. So, it Pasta or Pizza or an Entree ? Would like to try a pasta as a side dish with an entree. Maybe a pizza split between 4 of us as an appetizer. We are not gluttons, but would like to sample !

 

What is the acceptable practice ?

Ask the waiter/waitress. :) We've been offered a pizza to share, own pizzas even with appetizers, etc. I'm pretty sure that you'll get to sample everything you like.

We split a pizza, ordered appetizers and entrees and had "smaller" portions of pasta. Lots of food, but the server encouraged us to try as much as we wanted.

Officially the pasta on the menu is considered to be an entree. My experience has been, however, that they were familiar with the notion of a pasta course and were happy to provide us with a smaller portion when we asked.

I'm a chicken parmigiana fan.

There chicken Parma is quite good and most but ask to cut pasta size back also if you want a different pasta they can do it.

The Osso Bucco is to die for with parma palenta.

Calamari as and app. with pizza and split both. The calarmi is one of the best and cooked to perfection

The grilled shrimp risotto was very good as well! I am getting hungry!

On the POA we were offered a pizza to take back to our room. That would have been great if we weren't getting off the ship the next morning.

You certainly can, hubby does it on the Sun all the time, but make sure you stress you want just a side dish. He told them this last time, but didn't stress it enough and he had so much food I thought he was going to get sick eating 1/2 of it. BTW, il Adagios is better than just good, it is outstanding in our opinion. Hubby had a steak I think and I had Chicken P.

Having eaten in the Sun's Italian restaurant, Il Adagio, many times. We just order whatever appeals to us and they bring it. Never had an issue sorting out if we got two entrees or three appetizers etc. The staff doesn't seem to be counting.
