Beware of NCL false advertising

badcrusing's complaint is minor compared to mine. I chose NCL specifically due to their brochures. The brochures showed young, vibrant, well dressed people. Yet when I was on the ship all I saw were people like me, bald, overweight men in loud Hawaiian shirts. The brochure showed happy people in the casino. Obviously they were happy because they were winning. (Is anyone happy because they are not winning?) Yet when I gambled, I did not win. I don't even want to talk about the pool. When I was at the pool I did not sit beside a gorgeous young blond who was totally into me. When I did meet a gorgeous young blond and attempted to strike up a conversation I heard such words as "I'm calling security" and "Restraining Order". Please contact me if anyone is interested in joining my class action suit.

Maybe I should join. My brichures showed lots of empty lounge chairs by the pools. :D

Thank you! Thank you! I was having a really bad day until I opened this post and read about your class action suit. Im laughing so hard now, I can't stop.. I had to call my husband at work to read it to him! Ill join, heres why, they never told me I would get off the wearing clothing that no longer fits me! I didn't see anyone in the brochure who's buttons were popping, did you?

It's not that complicated folks... its a box... with a net around it. You go inside the box -- the one with the net. You bring some golf balls and perhaps a golf club. You put the balls on the floor and swing the club at the balls.

I think a reasonable person would look at the deck plan, see a box labeled "GOLF" and conclude that its probably a driving "range" of some sort.

 

I am reasonable and I would never expect a 'range' to be on a ship. A driving range is several hundred yards long and wide. Exactly where do you expect to see a rang on a ship?

We recently went on a Norwegian Cruise and booked the particular cruise ship because Norwegian advertised that they had a golf driving range on board. We were on a 7 day cruise most of which was out at sea with only 1 port so what one could do on the boat was pretty important. The driving range was a key item for us choosing this cruise ship. There was no driving range on the ship at all. I tried to dispute the charges as I felt like I was subject to bait and switch and Norwegian's response stated clearly that they shall not be obligated to honor any booking resulting from misprints or errors of any kind, whether in brochures, advertisements on the Internet ... So beware of NCL because if they advertise certain activities on the ship you are not guaranteed that those activities are actually on that particular ship. It's like advertising a swimming pool but then there isn't one when you board the ship .. may upset a few people who enjoy lying by the pool or taking a swim.

 

If I can't get any justice from Norwegian then maybe the law will help out as bait and switch is illegal in many states. Wish me luck!

I have a mental image of the ship towing a series of rafts marked "100 yards", "150 yards", "200 yards", etc, and the "golfers" watching for the splashes and calculating how many yards the ship traveled while their balls were in the air.

 

Talk about the ultimate water hazard!

NCL how about installing a few golf simulators where you can play a round of golf on a great course. NCL could even make some money like they do with the bowling lanes. This is popular with golfers in the winter and on rainy days.

I know I've been on ships that had golf simulators and golf pros, think it was Crystal. Don't know if they are still on the ships, but you might want to check them out.

In The Disney Cruise Line Forum, a lady was ticked off because DCL canceled her cruise because she forgot to pay for the cruise. It was Disney's fault in her mind.
