Open Air Bus Island Tours

We are cruising the Eastern Caribbean with a stop in St.Thomas. I know there are taxi stands at majority of the ports. We are hoping to do a Paradise Point Tram Ride (i believe we can walk to this) and were talking about an Island Tour. A few years ago we were in St Thomas and did a tour on an open air bus. I believe we just walked off the ship and jumped on. Does anyone know if these open busses are still running? And, do you know the approximate cost & how long the tour is? Thanks!

Those open air buses are the most efficient way to move a lot of people. They will always be running! :D When you get off the ship (at either pier), just walk out a little ways and tell the taxi dispatcher what you want. He will direct you from there.

 

We took an Island tour of St. Thomas through the cruise line one year, and it was about 2 hours long. Very nice. Then we made our own way to Magens Bay and enjoyed the beach for a while.

We really enjoy the open air taxi tours. They run about $20.00 per person and, in my opinion, are a much better value than the tram to Paradise Point. For about the same amount of money you get a 2-3 hr. tour with stops at various scenic look out points as well as a stop at Mountain Top.
