FirstCruiseBeth Posted January 27, 2014 #1 Share Posted January 27, 2014 Hi We are doing B2B on Crown Princess and I'd be grateful for any comments or advice about what to do on changeover day in Whittier. There seem to be two excursions available; Prince William Sound and 26 glacier cruise or Turnagain Arm Wildlife Centre, and visit to Anchorage. Has anyone done either / both? Any recommendations? Thanks Beth

seamanfs Posted January 27, 2014 #3 Share Posted January 27, 2014 We are doing a B2B on the Coral and signed up for the glacier tour too. Seems to make more sense than going to Anchorage.
ggprincess2004 Posted January 27, 2014 #4 Share Posted January 27, 2014 We've done the glacier tour, enjoyed it.
msmoger Posted January 27, 2014 #5 Share Posted January 27, 2014 Definitely Prince William Sound and the Glaciers. It's a fantastic and beautiful excursion. Turnigan Arm Wildlife Center is a lot of fun but if you have to choose one go with the boat trip. You won't be disappointed. The drive to Anchorage along the Seward Highway (which parallels Turnigan Arm) is also pretty spectacular but again, if you can only do one..... Have a great cruise!! Rare Essiesmom Posted January 27, 2014 #6 Share Posted January 27, 2014 We did the Wildlife Center and cable car at Alyeska, plus Anchorage...We enjoyed it. We would do it again. EM
Budget Queen Posted January 28, 2014 #7 Share Posted January 28, 2014 Either is a good option, depends on YOUR interests? Simple and giving way more touring options is also a car rental with Avis. I never board the ship before around 6pm as I am spending my day with added touring. Plenty to see and do, especially if not a frequent visitor. Taking advantage of the extended time, can offer plenty. :)
FirstCruiseBeth Posted January 29, 2014 Author #8 Share Posted January 29, 2014 Thank you all for your helpful replies. It sounds like both would be good.
mr green Posted January 29, 2014 #9 Share Posted January 29, 2014 Take the 26 Glacier Tour, a great way to spend the day. About 5 hours, lunch provided, and the Catamaran is 5 minutes from the ship. john
