Thanks everyone for following along. I have a few more pictures to post tonight... if they ever get uploaded. Unfortunately we have satellite internet living out of town and sometimes it is painfully slow :(

I'm hoping to post the rest of DAY 1 pictures tonight which is what I've posted so far.

I still have lots more pictures to upload and then I still have the Cruise Compasses and various sheets of information they pass out.

I also have all the restaurant menus which I will post.

Thanks for being patient.

Thank you so much for all the great pictures! Did you have any pics from the cabin crawl? Also, do you have menu pics? Thanks again!

I have some pics of the Royal Family Suite uploading now and hope to get them posted tonight.

I don't have actual menu pictures but I have screen shots of the menus from the "way finder" signs that I will be posting asap.

Sorry I posted my question while you were saying you had only posted day 1 and had more to post.

I have done trip reviews for my last few cruises. I enjoy doing it almost as much as planning for the actual cruise itself. I try to pass along some tips and tricks along the way that I have learned. I also tend to plan all private tours after exhaustive research trying to find the best deal with the highest ratings on either Cruise Critic Port Boards or Trip Advisor.

I'm a visual person so I love photos and try to post as many as possible too. Folks that like just to read can skip the picks and still get lots of info & those who hate to read can skip the typed word & just look as pics.

So, yes. I am planning a very long detailed report on our Mediterranean cruise which will include 2 days in Tuscany/Pisa/Florence & 2 days in Rome pre-cruise as well as 2 days afterwards in Barcelona.

I hope that you will follow along :)

Thanks for the pictures and info.. 3years ago we took a 10 day cruise with 3 days in Florence and 2 in Rome. What a great vacation! Are you doing a pre-cruise through RCI or on your own?

Both the premium and ultimate include lava flow and White Russian. I had the premium package at $55 a day..... My friend also had the same package and I think she had seven one day by the pool lol

Great thank you. My friend who is going on her first cruise has been lurking on this thread and read how I say she is trying to convince to buy it. Lol. Her convincing is working little by little. Hah

Absolutely! My hubby and I had many White Russians and I tried most of the various Lava Flow flavors....Yummm.... Casino bartender Alex makes the White Russians with vanilla vodka. Added an interesting flavor.

Did they use absolute and kahlua and vanilla vodka huh? Never tried that. I just may have to

Thanks for the info

Thanks for the posting and pics!!! We are on the Feb. 23 Navigator cruise and are so excited to experience the changes. We love Royal! Do they still make you check towels out?

No! You no longer have to check out towels. I believe that was announced around the first of the year so it hasn't been in effect too long. Everyone was happy about that for sure!

We are doing the pre & post cruise on our own. We have rented an apartment for 2 nights at a Tuscan villa which used to be a monastery and is a vineyard. Then we'll go back to Rome where we also rented an apartment for 2 nights. It is located right across from the Vatican. Then we will cruise for 8 nights with 7 port days & only 1 sea day and end up in Barcelona where we also rented an apartment for 2 nights.

Sounds wonderful! Reserving tickets for the Uffizi or Academia? Long lines without tickets.

MSUSpartan, why don't you come on over to our Feb 23 sailing roll call?? We have a pretty active group and have plans for a cabin crawl after the M&M. Our cabin is one of the new deck 12 cabins and SULROSS says we will be the first ones in the new cabins.

Awesome, Adrian got my WOW as well, and our other one went to Michelle in the Cafe Promenade, she was awesome and wrapped some cookies and scones "to go" with saran wrap over the plates! :)

Saw your mention of scones, please tell me they had the chocolate chips scones. We will be on her in Oct, and I love the scones. I bring ziplock bags to put them, in so I have them even on the days they aren't available.

I have a thread on the Virtual Balcony on my review just posted as to not spam the info.

Next you asked about Izumi, I plan on posting all about it later tonight.

There are 5 speciality restaurants that i know of onboard Sabor (Modern Mexican) don't know the cost Chops (steak house) $30 per Izumi (Japanese) works just like an actual restaurant with each item priced Giovanni's Table (Italian) don't know price maybe $20 and Johnny Rockets (50's burger and shake

Is Johnny Rockets $5? Also read somewhere that they serve breakfast free in there?

Yes, there were chocolate chips scones available in the Promenade Cafe on at least the first day.

Yes, JR is $5 for burgers/fries/onion rings & dessert. Milkshakes and fountain drinks are extra.

JR is not open for breakfast on this class of RCI ships...sorry.

Any unlimited wifi plans?

I don't remember seeing anything about an unlimited plan. I thought that I had picked up paperwork but all I can find is one that explains how to connect. I'll keep looking though.

When is your Mediterranean Cruise? How soon can you plan a trip like that?

This was a 4 day cruise so the prices were less, but there were some unlimited plans. I have some free internet minutes so did pay that much attention. There is a plan for 2 devices at a time, 1 device at a time and by the day. I think I saw it will be about $169.00 or so for the unlimited 1 device plan, but the seven day was not shown. You do not have to go the the internet cafe and log on to their computers to establish an account and set password. That can be done on your device anywhere on the ship. When you log in and establish your account the various plans are shown and you select the one you want. It is still not very fast, but is anywhere.

I have a question that is cruise related but not about nos. my guess is the seasoned cruisers will know. I read/ saw somewhere on a thread here about a locking beach safe case. It holds room key id and a little cash and it's waterproof and looks like a combo lock on it. I should have written the name down but didn't and now I can't find it and I'm not a internet search pro so I get frustrated easily. Does anyone know what I am talking about and what it's called or even ideas on something to purchase that's not too expensive to hold this stuff? We are cave tubing and we need something. Thank you
