  • 3 weeks later...

We sailed on Voyager in November last year. If there was any outbreak of a virus we were unaware. In the course of the day you meet and talk to many people and we didn't hear a word about sickness, except the self inflicted.

The staff were constantly cleaning and we were impressed with the basic cleanliness. The only complaint we had were the coffee mugs in the Windjammer. A dark stain inside and that was all of them. Maybe RCL need to look into that, they were of the melamine type.

As for drinks we had no trouble ordering and didn't see anyone too drunk.

Our cruise was very enjoyable and we would do it again.

Just back from the 27/2 sailing. Noro was on the last cruise so they were very careful with ours. I never saw or heard any signs if it. New carpet is going through the ship. No nasty smells on deck 7 aft. Overall ship is in great shape but looks a bit 1990's.

The ships staff are amazing but I believe they work to hard.

Thanks Esilef. I know, like me, in your previous posts in your roll call you were worried about sickness on board and various other complaints. Was everything ok? Any tips you can give us? I am on the ship 27th March with two kids in tow.

Thanks for any information in advance.

I was on the same cruise and there was no sign of illness -- other than sea sickness on a particularly rough patch.

Boarding was delayed as they did a deep clean after the previous sail.

Hand washing was encouraged all the time, and dispensers of sanitizer were at the entrances to just about everywhere. Closely monitored at entrances to MDR and Windjammer. But done with a good sense of humour.

For the first 3 or 4 days, no self-service in Windjammer.

There were 500 kids on the ship and were amazingly well behaved.

Thats good to hear! I was on the cruise before you and one of the complainers - and truly the smell really was terrible. I was worried that the ship would sail out again with nothing having been done about it.

Glad you had a good cruise.

I was worried that they had done a full clean & delayed boarding but this worked in our favour. The ship was very clean & we were served in the buffet. Kind of wished they continued to do so. Washy washy became the saying of the cruise. Sanitise hands all the time.

I took a packet of wet ones which we also used.

To prevent my din getting sea sick he was given a half a travel calm in the days prior to boarding & a couple after. Not seasick at all.

I packed to many clothes. I used my travel washing line with pegs on our balcony lot.

Kids club was first in gets the limited spots.

The kids club ages 3-5 only had 1 staff member to 15 kids. Total 30 kids per session.

On level 14 behind the high notes bar they have set up a lounge for mums & small kids to sit & play in.

The kids club has bags of toys for young children which they loan out. Just select a bag & take it back to your room after the kids get board return for new toys.

All toys are fished price.

The promenade cafe on level 5 is great for kids snacks with small rolls & cookies.

We purchased a walkabout travel lock prior to going. This stopped our son from leaving the room as he could open the door.

There is no nappies for sale on board take extra if you need them.

Zip lock bags came in handy.

We took our own cheap lanyards.

If you want babysitting book early as we could not get this.

The BBQ around the pool is great.

Consider drink packs for the kids.

We took filtered water bottles which we used.

With kids don't expect to be able to do all you want to do.

We attended dinner in the MDR twice.

Our MDR waiter arranged for us to have dinner delivered to the room one night.

Room service is great or just go to the buffet & bring back plates of what your family likes.

The cupcake cupboard is yummy!

You forgot to mention his shock of blond hair in your description.

Saw him racing around, with you 10 steps behind. But I did not think he was really annoying anyone else.

I enjoyed sitting at the Pig & Whistle drinking "coffee" and watching the world go by.

Was amused by seeing him rushing by with both the walkie talkies, then you following him back with them. ( I am easily amused)

The walkie talkies have come in handy on our travels! Get some weird looks from other people when we are using them. They are not toy ones but specialised ones with a range of channels ect. Thus means we can use our own channel and not interfere with the ships radios. Others got told off for having more toy like ones.

William does have a mass if white blond hair & big blue eyes. Looks like an angel but can act like the devil! Most of the staff knew him by the end of the cruise. The pig & whistle was his favourite bar for an energy boost of coke a cola.
