dmdicato Posted February 24, 2014 #1 Share Posted February 24, 2014 What is the best transportation from the Seattle airport to cruise port 91? Thanks in advance!
SEAEDP Posted February 24, 2014 #2 Share Posted February 24, 2014 I live in Seattle and the best (cheapest) way to get from the airport to downtown is the Lite Rail. It's only $2.75 and it takes about 30 mins. It ends at West Lake Center downtown. Then, grab a cab to Pier 91. It's only about a 2 mile cab ride. Juicy2143 Posted February 24, 2014 #3 Share Posted February 24, 2014 Do you have any recommendations for a hotel? We are coming in the day before and didn't know if it would be better to stay near the airport or near the port.
SEAEDP Posted February 24, 2014 #4 Share Posted February 24, 2014 Don't stay near the airport. It's too far and not interesting at all. Stay around the Westlake area or near the Space Needle. When you get off the Lite Rail at West Lake Center, there are several great hotels. Westin, Hotel Max, Hyatt at Olive. These hotels are in the middle of everything (restaurants, shopping, pubs, etc.). Also, it's only about 2 miles or less to the Pier by cab. jsf Posted February 24, 2014 #5 Share Posted February 24, 2014 We're looking into a shuttle service that will take you from airport to pier called Shuttle Express (look online). We are staying an extra night at end of cruise at the Moore Hotel, right downtown, and a block from rail service back to airport when we want to leave. dmdicato Posted February 24, 2014 Author #6 Share Posted February 24, 2014 We've decided on staying at the Best Western Evergreen Inn at the airport for the day prior to the cruise. It's $80 plus tax and includes breakfast, plus the shuttle to & from the airport. Then, we'll take the light train the next morning into the Seattle cruise port. Northern Aurora Posted February 24, 2014 #8 Share Posted February 24, 2014 ..... Then, we'll take the light train the next morning into the Seattle cruise port. Just a point of clarification -- the Seattle light rail system extends from SEATAC to Westlake Center in downtown Seattle. You will still need a taxi from Westlake to either Pier 66 or Pier 91. Our current favorite Seattle hotel is the Mayflower Park. Love the staff, the downtown location (right beside Westlake Center) and the fact that the entire hotel is non-smoking. garycarla Posted February 24, 2014 #9 Share Posted February 24, 2014 Downtown Seattle is a great place to visit. Way better than airport. In the morning, you go out and about and tour the town. Or, you can check in your bags at the pier early and go walking.
mapleleaves Posted February 24, 2014 #10 Share Posted February 24, 2014 as long as you can easily manage your luggage, Light Rail is a great option to get downtown. However, to reach the Light Rail station at Seatac you need to walk 7-8 minutes thru the parking garage structure ... it's flat and its covered but it takes 7-8 minutes. So not a good option if you've overpacked and can't manage your luggage. The last stop is Westlake ... from downtown to Pier 91 a cab will run about $20. Other options from Seatac to Pier 91 .... - Shuttle Express has scheduled service which I think is about $20pp. - flaterateforhire or eastsideforhire.com is non-metered so their cabs are usually much cheaper than the other companies - if there are more than 2 people, a towncar service will run about $
