Am I missing a trick with the Anthem??

We've always had an ocean view family stateroom or promenade as we're a family of 2 adults and 3 kids.

We want to sail out of Southampton next summer with a flow rider but the lowest grade room sleeping 5 is a suite? If we go in 2 rooms interconnecting we will end up paying adult prices for two of the three kids.

The anthem is sold as a family ship but there don't appear to be any family rooms to sleep 5 lower than a suite grade...........or have I missed something?

:(

Most of the cabins that sleep 5 on all of the ships are considered "suites", as far as I know!

The 2 connecting will probably be your best bet....as the cost of the rooms are cheaper, so it might be a better deal.

There are no "adult" rates....only 1st and 2nd passenger rates.....

Thanks for your reply.

On the freedom class they have interior, promenade and ocean view family rooms which sleep upto 6 so as a family of 5 they're perfect. We've always paid 2 adult prices then reduced rates for the children. They're not suites so it's always worked out cheaper than 2 interconnecting rooms.

Seems a shame that this won't continue but.....let's see what tomorrow brings when the Anthem goes on sale :)

Good luck, just to clarify and expand on what cb above has to say.

Royal has 1st and 2nd passenger rates, and 3rd through xx rates. Regardless of whether a person is an adult or child the rate is the rate. If you had one adult and one child in a cabin both would pay the 1st/2nd passenger rate. On the other hand if you had 4 adults in a cabin, 2 would pay the 1st/2nd passenger rate, and the other 2 adults would pay the 3rd/4th passenger rate.

As far as one cabin vs 2, we have found for our family of 4 it is just about the same to book 2 cabins and all of us in 1 and we very much appreciate the extra space.

Quantum, and I am assuming Anthem, have some staterooms purposely configured to connect to make what is similar to the family cabins on other ships.

We have found these rooms which accommodate a minimum of 5 guests cannot be booked online and you have to call. They are very spacious - the last one we stayed in was 3 separate rooms plus a bathroom. Not sure how it will be on the new ships. Good luck!!
