Sheraton Ft Lauderdale Airport hotel

Anybody know how far the Sheraton Ft Lauderdale Airport hotel (1825 Griffin Road) is from Port Everglades? Also what a taxi from hotel to port would cost?

Probably < 5 miles. Taxi I think should be around $15-20 depending on traffic.

I have stayed there three times. Nice hotel with free airport shuttle. They run a cruise shuttle which was $9 per person last time I was there.

 

For some reason, they would not call a cab for us to get to the port (perhaps they wanted the shuttle business?).

 

We have switched to staying at the Crowne Plaza right next to the port. They also run a pay for ride shuttle to the port (which was mobbed). We asked them to call us a taxi which arrived in 5 minutes and was cheaper than the shuttle.
