Welcome back, DJ! We've missed you!

I, too, will be interested in a potential Cuba cruise, but still hope SD will do some more N Europe at some point. We've just about maxed out the Caribbean (although we will be there in Jan) and not much more of the Med to do. Some other ideas are British Isles, so may have to bite the bullet and try another line.

Looking forward (I hope!) to whatever announcement SD is going to make!

And saw the Commodore's post and all those wonderful pictures that bring back so many great memories. He will be profoundly missed, but hope that he is again enjoying good health and that this move will be good for him and his family. Hard to say goodbye, though :(

Vandrefalk

Awww ... shucks ;)

DJ's DH and I would love to see a cruise to Cuba on SD! I suspect that if SD were to create a FL-Cuba-Yucatan-FL itinerary that there are many of us "oldtimers" who would sign up in a heartbeat.

We are on the same page with you on the British Isles. Perhaps SD can have H-H serve as special ambassador/guest lecturer for that one:cool:

If I had you in the pub, we would get it out of you quickly. Just blurt it out.......You have the right mien for it........Just Do It.......

Or the TOYBar!:D

Bear with old chap until SD themselves decide whether to announce anything or NOT.

Hmmm ...

Share the sentiments and best wishes for James and his family.

We wouldn't have SD to enjoy so much without him all these years.

Got big hints on Cuba when on SD a few weeks ago. Chatter was about how, as usual, the big ships would go to Havana but SD would go to smaller, nicer, more realistic ports. Got distinct impression research on same was well under way.

Hmmmm, ho-hum without Blondie around....

Aha !

Aqualung. Jethro Tull 1971

Love JT. Pure genius. Mind you also loved "Stand up" and "Benefit" too

And you ?

Ian Anderson's lyrics to that one are amazing.......far too rude for the gentle folk of this forum.

One of the senior officers on SD is a devotee too.

And we like to talk about football too (soccer to you).

We have a ripping time when we have dinner together.

Blondie not so.

Hum is still in shock about James and a tad upset (albeit mildly).

James has already responded, thanking Hum.

We will be keeping in contact no doubt but we are not so close.

You are kind (and accurate) to comment as you did.

He is probably reading this anyhooo.

Hum cannot possibly comment about "tittle tattle" having been "wrapped over the knuckles" for simply having fun and wanting to share the excitement with chums who love SD.

But oh no.

Whether they go to Cuba or Margate......Hum doesnt give a " flying €!$*#" anymore (Hum is heavily sulking about the injustice and submitting to bullying and paranoia.....but only this time, out of respect, dwindling respect).

No doubt someone else will discover the news, if there is ANY.

Back to finding if there are any other things suitable to eat round here.

Is there a yoghurt shortage ?

Hum's discovered tons of it here.

Sadly only healthy food.

Might have to speed dial "The Taj" any second.

In the US, I am hoping it comes down to Trump and Sanders. Gives a stark choice for which way people want the country to go. No middle ground between those two. My greatest fear is that it comes down to Clinton/Bush. They make the Norwegians seem interesting and transparent...

Ask yourself if you would rather have the Donald or Bernie? You will then know in your heart whether you are a capitalist or a socialist.

PS - found a photo showing the relationship between ol'Ragnar (or Jim) and the mighty ho-hum:..

Thats's Colonel Sanders ehhh

Aren't they both a tad old.

That Irishman President O'Bama is a kid compared to these guys.

The horse analogy is quite apt but only what you consider a horse can produce along with Hum's posting equivalent !

At age 12 I knew I was very different than most people as Stand Up was my favorite albumn....

Hey kiddo.......you were 12 when "Stand Up" came out ?

Well you were definitely years ahead culturally of your contemporaries.

Impressed.

A little reminder of what great original used to sound like along the theme of horses from a simply wonderful album which is quintessentially British too.

Ah ha!!!...at last we have sight and sound of the house band at the Ye Old Tacky Inn just down the road from the posh pile! "Come hear them entertain and join in the frivolities with buxom wenches and ale filled squires on the third Thursday of each month".

The vocalist, Ian Anderson, it is alleged, attended Roseburn primary school located in the capital of Brigadoon. Drive past it on a regular basis, it's still being used as a school (or whatever passes for education nowadays).

An inside confidential source has hinted heavily that SD will be announcing important developments tomorrow night !!!

Cuba. Hum's guessing.

What do you think ?

No not about kids.....please.

Wow!!! What an announcement. I never thought they would do that! And the prices!! What a great discount for past passengers. I love the new itinerary and the "Adults Only" new policy is lots of icing on the cake. I booked already for the first Cuba to North Pole cruise....:D:D

Jimbo.

HH has heard the "announcement" and as promised, he will refrain from posting it.

Word given and all.

But Hum has heard it at least three times before over the last 18 months !

And it has absolutely no affect on guests or crew or anything really.

But have you heard anything different ?

Your report sounds much better !

The only down side is the voyage will be hosting the swimsuit section of the Miss America contest and the tequila company subsidising the voyage will insist that passengers liberally partake of their premium brands.

Oh and for the ladies, George Clooney will be the Club Director.
