Casino Offer

I have recieved only one casino offer so I don't know how often they come out or who they offer them to or how much you need to spend in the casino to get one. I am shocked we don't get one of the offers as hubby and I spend about $6000 - $8000 in the casino alone per cruise. No rhyme or reason to their offers.

Sounds like you might have a little bit of problem! lol

You got it right, No rhyme or reason. I have the casino rate and DH did not. He spent more in the Casino then I did. I am loving the rate. 4 day cruise for $104 pp. Even better since we had already planned on going, booked at casino rate of $224 pp. 3 days later price drop and we got a refund! Yes, more $$ for the casino. Also have 2 $25 casino credit e-mails. I wonder if they will both work :D

I had booked the Liberty for June 20 before my players club offer came. They offered a deal on my booked cruise so I called them and they switched my booking to that one. I saved $150 pp, got $300 casino cash, and free drinks in the casino!

Why would you say that? You have no idea what I do for a living or how much I earn.

You are right, I don't. But if you lose that much money in a week, it sounds like you have a losing problem or don't know when to quit.

How did you go about getting the free drinks in the casino at the start of the cruise? Last cruise I was on, they gave it to me after the 2nd or 3rd day. My next cruise is free (from the casino), will I be eligible for the free drinks at the start too?

If you earned 5,000 or more points in the casino, the card will be waiting for you the first night- pick it up at the cage. I would contact Player's Club before you go and confirm it will be there for you. Bring a print-out of the e-mail to show the host, just in case.

I have booked the casino rate on several of my past cruises. When I cruised Sunshine in January, a casino staff person told me that the casino rates were going away. I'm waiting to see if it holds true. So far I have not seen another casino rate offer other than the premier cruises and a casino offer related to the Breeze Ultimate Slot Tournament in November.

I hope that they are not going away. I had the offer that expired on 3/5, but can't get the vacation time until November and that was only good for sailings through September. I am reading on this thread that there are offers valid through April with sailings until November, so am hoping to get one. I have the Premier Cruise Casino Offer, but again, the last sailing is in July.

To each his own. If someone wants to lost that much money in a casino and enjoys themselves on vacation. Good for them, that is what they enjoy. I enjoy pigging out at the buffet and buying beers until I hit the bed. To each his own.

It is all relative. The more you have the more it takes to get a thrill when you are gambling. When I earned 15k a year two dollar blackjack worked for me. Now I would be bored to tears at the ten dollar level.

I often wonder what level Bill Gates would have to play at to get a rush. The guy could lose one million a day and never touch his principle.

To the OP I would definitely make sure the pit boss knows you are in the casino and playing. I like to joke and kid with them and sort of establish a relationship with them. Also after your first night of gambling check with the casino the next morning and see what you are rated as. If it doesn't jibe with what you think it should be let them know. At your level of play there is know reason for you to be getting screwed on your offers.

Gotta love judgemental people who have no idea about another person let alone tell them they don't know when to quit. Like I said you have absolutely no idea what kind of money I have to spend in any way I wish.

And you might take note that I said SPEND $6000 - $8000 per week. I DID NOT say LOSE that much. We do quite well in the casino.

That was part of the deal with this offer along with special boarding, cocktail party, free gift (I assume the chocolate dipped strawberries), lower rate, $300 casino cash.

On my last cruise I didn't get free drinks until the last night.

Boozebabe,

I have no clue how much money goes back and forth between my hands and the casino then back to me each cruise, but I'm sure it's at least that much. As for doing 'quite well....' :p Not so much. I normally break even or a few hundred to the positive.

On one cruise I won the BlackJack tournament, but that only comes to $500 and a few additional treats. If I add in the free drinks at their prices then I do quite well, but I avoid the drinks as much as possible because my skill goes down markedly. :o It would be real nice if the BlackJack tournament $$ was the final tally from the tournament! :D

If I were to loose 6-8k on any cruise I'd not have a problem that repeats itself very often! It's not that I have the will power to avoid such losses, I simply don't have the $$ to loose that much very often.

I have done quite well in the casino. NOT at the slot machines I may add. We run very little thru the slots. I play tables almost exclusively. Yes theres a lot of exchange of chips but in the end I usually win. I have lost some, who hasn't? I should probably knock on wood as I write this but I am a very lucky gambler both is casinos and lottery. The majority of people are not and that is obviously how casinos are built. I also know when to stop and go to the piano bar.

Boozebabe,

I have played slots a few times and always win....never much, but it seems like no matter how much I wager or how long I wager I never make it to zero balance; which is my actual goal because I don't get the point of slots. :p I guess I'm lucky, but also unlucky since my goal is to hit zero so I can move on. In the past I enjoyed giving up and cashing out to the ping of coins falling, but now that it's just a transaction on my S&S so that enjoyment is gone.

I finally figured out why I NEVER win the lottery.....I always forget to play! They should add a line on tax forms to automatically play a years worth of lottery games for x amount that way I'd get to play every week!

I posted this on another thread - but just an FYI, I got one of those heavily discounted casino offers, (with offers for casino cash, etc), and when I went onto Carnival and plugged my VIFP number in - I was eligible for free cruises, (interior), on just about every sailing. I ended up booking a hugely discounted Grand Suite on the Splendor this June using this discount, (could have had a free interior, but wanted a balcony.) I never got any email or letter offering me a free cruise, I had to stumble upon it myself.

This might be old news, but just wanted to pass it on in case :)

The only way I found out about my discount/casino rate was also by checking on my VIFP account - no other communication was provided!

I did call about any casino 'cash' credit - they were not very nice on the phone - like why are you calling? And yes you do get $25 - but again that was not mentioned anywhere and I am not sure how I would have known that? doesn't appear anywhere 'in writing'!!
