Kimmy47 Posted March 13, 2014 #1 Share Posted March 13, 2014 Hi everyone! We are looking for a mid priced hotel in Fort Lauderdale on Feb. 6 2015, we are sailing on the Oasis 7 night Eastern Caribbean route. Of course I would like a nice view of the port, close to shopping for wine and water and walking distance for dinners. I have a law enforcement discount I can use if available. We have been enjoying all the posts on this thread and are really excited to keep reading about all of the experiences!:D
handbellplayer Posted March 13, 2014 #2 Share Posted March 13, 2014 We have reservations at the Hyatt Place Fort Lauderdale 17th Street-Convention Center in September. It gets good reviews and is reasonable.
George C Posted March 13, 2014 #3 Share Posted March 13, 2014 Embassey suite on 17th is close to everything, 10 dollar taxi ride to peir, great breakfast and happy hour is included in price. Total wine is a couple of blocks away which is a great wine store.

Dick and Jane Posted March 13, 2014 #5 Share Posted March 13, 2014 We prefer the Holiday Inn Express ( loyalty program benefits for us). No view of the port, but you can walk UP the bridge for a great view of the ships. It's also only about a mile walk to the ship - which we have done often. I believe the transport to the ship is $8. FunCruiser56 Posted March 13, 2014 #6 Share Posted March 13, 2014 We are staying at Embassy Suites, we have stayed in this area before and there is plenty of shopping, resturants, grocery store. Not sure about seeing the port, maybe from the top floor? Price was good, $136 for the end of May. Go to hotels.com and see all the hotels available, plenty close to port and reasonable prices. Valiamo Posted March 13, 2014 #7 Share Posted March 13, 2014 A fellow CC mentioned that the Courtyard had a view of the ships, and she posted pics of her ship coming into port at 4 or 5 AM. Check out http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2006897 It also depends on the time of year, as the hotel we have booked ranges from $150 to $350 based on when. Stevie17 Posted March 13, 2014 #8 Share Posted March 13, 2014 We really like the Hyatt Regency Pier 66. If you get a Tower Room, you will have a direct view of the ships. It's a great hotel, not too expensive, and ideally located.
