Question on Veranda Guarantee

I am planning a cruise with Celebrity for the first time in August ( Celebrity Silhouette ). I see a good price with the veranda Guarantee ( category 2F )...Can anybody share what their experience was with this category. Is it typically an obstructed view balcony?

2F doesn't exist could it be 2D or 2C? :)

You are right...It is 2D :) thanks for the catch...as you can tell my first time planning a cruise on celebrity!

 

If any body has pictures of a obstructed verandah that would be great...

We booked the D2 guarantee on Sunday for a back to back (Aug 10 & 17) on that ship and have already received a room assignment for both the back to back cruises. We now are assigned a 1C. We were told that a D2 is 50% obstructed and just read a review saying still great views. Hope this helps.

The 2Ds have the larger lifeboats in front of the balcony, the tops of which come up to the balcony railing. You still have an excellent view out, when standing, just not down. One the 2Cs, the top of the lifeboat is about level with the balcony floor.

 

50% obstructed--they may say that but it's not really so!! You will be happy with your 1C however.

Thanks all for the replies and pics...this gives me a very good idea of what to expect.

We booked a gaurantee minimum 2D on Eclipse last year and were allocated a 1B on the hump. However as long as you are happy with at least a 2D then its a win win situation.

Thanks KevinYork. based on all the feedback iam going to go ahead and book the 2D guarantee. Let us see what i eventually get. I am comfortable with the obstructed view if i do get it.
