Hi Vicky & Ron:

Do you bring your own snorkel equipment, and take underwater pictures while on vacations ?

Hope to see you onboard -- have a fantastic cruise!

You're going to have to get your dog some pretty special treats to compensate for this trip...

Hi there Oceandrive.........

I'm not sure where Royal Caribbean holds their Meet & Mingle parties, but I suspect you'll get a notice in your stateroom advertising the date, place and time. You'll need to be enrolled, however, in order to receive the info. If you're not enrolled, let us know, and I'll look for the link to get you all signed up.

As to an FOD party, I doubt we'll be successfull getting one orchestrated by Royal Caribbean themselves, but since there are a bunch of us on this thread, we should have no problem making our own party plans! Really looking forward to meeting everyone and getting in the "hula" spirit collectively!

Here's a link to lots of info regarding Royal Caribbean's Meet & Mingle affairs...

But let's call our own informal FOD gathering a "Meet and Tingle" party !!!
When is the CC meet and greet party ?
According to the "confirmed meet and mingle" site located at:
http://www.royalcaribbean.com/ccConfirmedPartyList.do?src=CCC
the time and location booked for our cruise is :

RADIANCE OF THE SEAS 09/26/2004 03:15:00 PM, Starquest Disco

This is located at the top level (Deck 13) of ship in the Viking Crown Lounge Area.

If you wish to have an FOD scheduled, you'll need to get together with the Cruise Director's staff asap after boarding, and request them to schedule one and have it mentioned in whichever day's particular "Compass" daily activity list.

WOW, Dave! I didn't know the date & time were announced in advance! That's a step forward from our previous cruises.

Looks like you're also the FOD specialist. Have you had much success getting the Cruise Director's staff orchestrating such soirees? I read so many threads where people get turned down. Nice to know we'll make our own fun in case they turn us down!

Dave's the dude, kids!

That's relatively new Beav, about those MM parties being announced in advance.

As to "FOD" parties - I've never tried to arrange any, so I really can't say how co-operative the cruise lines may or may not be.

Personally have always found on cruises that there are so many people of all lifestyles / persuasions with whom one can make friends and such a great time with, that whether or not I attend any of those functions or meetings doesn't really play into force.

Dave
Yes Dave, we bring our own equipment and we buy disposable underwater cameras.

We took our first cruise last year in Tahiti and snorkeled every day..so now we are hooked on snorkeling and cruising.

We got some great snorkeling information from: www.snorkelbob.com

Snorkel Bobs site tells you all about which beaches are safe with great snorkeling.

All the beaches in Tahiti are safe, so we just drove and snorkeled at every beach that looked good. But in Hawaii there are some high waves and undertows...and maybe sharks:eek: So we are following Snorkel Bobs instructions.

I should also warn everyone - I know for a fact that at least one person traveling on this cruise already has a grass skirt and coconut tits - now, I don't know if that is any indication of expertise in the art of hula - just stating a fact!!!!!

I don't know if I'm the one with the biggest deck. We'll have to compare when we're on the ship. Bring the measuring tapes guys ! I listen to a lot of Hawaiian music these days. And practice Hula in the living room. It's pretty bad ! Maybe some of you are more gifted (hula or Deck). Let's the Hula Olympics begin !

Aloha !

If you Hula holding two BIG bananas at the same time, you will look like Carmen Verandah ! Lol !
If you see someone doing the Hula holding one small, limp, rotten banana, then just say "Nice to meet you, BEAV"

I love the pictures ! Thank you ! I just registered for the CC meet and mingle party ! I'm excited. Nice hula dancers. I like the tablecloth they're wearing. I'll get one for myself (Or for the dining room). Too bad it was not that windy when the pictures were taken !

You know BEAV . . . if RCI were smart (and we all know that has it's moments of glory) they would contact one of the Hula Halau on Maui the night we are there and bring some of the boys on board

. . . 'course if RCI is reading this board they may be concerned about their ability to protect them!!!!!
