Where is Bryn Mawr?

I see a few interesting North Eastern coast cruises departing

from "Bryn Mawr" but can't find a port of that name in a Google search.

There are a couple of places inland, including one quite closer

to the NewYork terminal. But nothing on the NY terminal site

suggests it is called Bryn Mawr...

So where is this Bryn Mawr departure point?

There is a Bryn Mawr outside of Philadelphia, PA but it's landlocked....so, that's not a departure port....

You can sail out of New York City or Brooklyn, NY or Bayonne (Cape Liberty), NJ, but there would be no ships in Bryn Mawr, PA,......

Not sure what criteria you're using to search...you want to do say a Canada/New England Cruise??

Then you'd look at NYC, Cape Liberty or Boston, Mass....

The closest Bryn Mawr to New York that I know of is a suburb of Philadelphia...and definitely not a seaport...it's inland.

Bayonne, Brooklyn, Boston and Baltimore are all cruise departure ports in the Northeast that start with the letter "B". Bar Harbor is a cruise port of call in the Northeast.

Can you provide a link to what you're looking at?

Big Chick ~ I'm very curious to know how and where "Bryn Mawr" came up in a search for New England cruises.

Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, is a very pleasant "Main Line" town outside of Philadelphia, best known as the location of a college of the same name. But a cruise port--or any kind of port--it certainly ain't!

(There are a couple of meandering creeks in the area, but the water wouldn't even come up to your knees--scarcely enough to float a canoe or row boat, let alone a cruise ship.)

Cape Liberty is in Bayonne, New Jersey across the Hudson River southwest of lower Manhattan.

This is the itinerary of the cruise you are looking at:

Day 1 Cape Liberty, Bayonne, New Jersey- 4:00 pm

Day 2 At Sea -- --

Day 3 Portland, Maine- 8:00 am 6:00 pm

Day 4 Bar Harbor, Maine- 7:00 am 5:00 pm

Day 5 Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada- 7:00 am 3:00 pm

Day 6 Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada- 9:30 am 7:00 pm

Day 7 At Sea -- --

Day 8 Boston, Massachusetts- 7:00 am 5:00 pm

Day 9 At Sea -- --

Day 10 Cape Liberty, Bayonne, New Jersey

Cape Liberty is closest to Newark International Airport in Newark, New Jersey

Questions about this sailing can be asked on this board.

Celebrity also sails from Cape Liberty to Bermuda during the summer.

I think I found the listing that the OP found. It does indeed say Bryn Mawr!!! Bet they don't sell too many of those. There are no cruise tours attached to the offer.

Anyway the cruise that attracted the OP's attention is the RCL Explorer Sept 11 cruise.

This reminds me of the time one of my company's clients based in Mexico was coming to Burlington, MA. Whoever made their travel arrangements booked them to Burlington, VT and they had to take cab (!!!) back to Burlington, MA. Good job Big Chik for questioning this. For Bryn Mawr the TA might have booked you a flight to Philadelphia instead of Newark.

Perhaps foreign TAs need to have editors based in countries in which they are selling travel...LOL

OP, Philadelphia is a lot of fun, and I am sure Bryn Mawr is quaint....BUT, you'd probably enjoy sailing out of Bayonne...at least the ship WILL be there...:D:D

For the record, the posting of the travel agent's name will possibly get this pulled, or at the very least edited...

Suffice it to say that the info is not correct....

Thanks all for confirming my suspicions.

Apologies for breaching etiquette by posting the TA names.

Now I only need figure out why are there two sailings listed

for the same ship in the same week... Suffice to say I won't

be booking anything via that site!
