A co-worker of ours told us she loves going to Pancho's Backyard when they go to Cozumel, so we wanted to try it out. They have 2 locations, one at this pier (no taxi needed) and another one somewhere else.

The food and drinks were excellent, and was a popular spot for the crew ship workers as well. We ordered chips and pico, 2 Rum Punch's and we split the Burrito Sonora.

This was before our food came out:

All of it was so delicious! My stomach started hurting from the rum punch, I stopped halfway through it, but Tommy finished it off for me. Ethan fell asleep as we were walking to Pancho's and slept all through lunch. This place is a must try in my book.

After lunch Tommy wanted to get a hat, so we did and then headed back to the ship. You have to walk through a security area that's like a shopping strip, called "Dufry". We ended up not purchasing anything though. Once back on board, we dropped the stroller off at the room and then went up to the pool. While we were in our bathing suits we figured we'd let Ethan wade around and splash. I liked how these pools had an area of ankle deep water to wade in before getting to the pool. I saw several parents with their children wading around in this area. After 20 minutes of hanging out at the pool, we headed up to the room to relax. I wanted to get my gym time in so I headed there after changing. I only stayed 25 minutes, on the treadmill this time. Getting back to the room, I showered, and then watched the Carnival Triumph that was parked next to us sail away. No pier runners for them, nor for us either. When we were heading back to the room from the pool, we ran into Maria, who said that Dad got back off to find some snorkeling. I called their room after the Triumph left to see if Dad made it back on and he did.......with a sprained ankle. He didn't break it but it's sprained pretty good. Hope he can manage the rest of the cruise. :-( (He went snorkeling, and it was gorgeous, but he didn't have a watch, so when he was done, he jogged back to the ship. There was a taxi coming up behind him, so he moved over some and when he did he rolled his ankle. He said he hobbled about 2 miles like that. I wished he took some cash or something, but he didn't. Otherwise he would've grabbed a taxi I'm sure.)

Once we started leaving at 5:30pm, Tommy, Dad, Ethan and I went to the Red Frog Pub (Can you tell I like that place!??!) so I could get a drink. I got the Caribbean Colada again, and Dad got 2 grey goose & splash of cran to try and ease the pain of his ankle from the casino bar (I paid for one of them). Once leaving the Red Frog Pub, we headed to the room for Ethan to lay down since he said he wanted to, and acted like he was tired. It was a different story when we got back to the room, so me, Tommy and Ethan, went to dinner at ATD in Truffles. Tonight's menu sounded decent so we went. Ethan gobbled up the black bean soup, I had a cocktail shrimp, and Tommy had the Penne Mariscos. All of it was very good. For the main entree we both ordered the Chicken Sicilian but got it to go since Ethan was whiny and tired. Once we got back to the room, the sicilian didn't look all that great, so we passed on it. Tommy went to the casino, while I stayed here in the room with Ethan. We played with Paint on the tablet and watched Artha make towel animals before chilling with a bottle and going to bed. Ethan was out at 8:30pm.

I have noticed a lot of older people are on this cruise, maybe only a handful of children, and doesn't seem all that full.

SIDE NOTE FROM YESTERDAY: Here is a pic of the Thirsty Frog beer that is made by Anheuser Busch, strictly for Carnival ships that have the Red Frog Pub onboard.

The Red Frog Pub does NOT serve food on the Legend. I have heard of it serving food on other ships, but the Legend did not. For the games, they do not charge and during the day it was pretty dull, but the bartenders and waiters kept you entertained. They had country music playing, and the workers sang along. It was only the evenings that James would play in there, or one night there was a young lady in there singing but didn't catch her name.

For those asking for the FunTimes, I need to scan them in.

Thank You

1. I feel like a dumb@$$

2. I truly did enjoy my Humanities college course for Ancient Roman.....I do not recall hearing of this.

Haha!! I chalk up similar lack-o-memory moments up to too many neurons being killed off on cruises :D :D :D

Great review - love the photos! My Legend cruise was back in the "pre-frog" days, and we had a blast. Glad to read and see you guys a good time!

Thanks for showing the new Pancho's backyard.

We didn't know there was a new one.

The original is at the end of the strip in town. It's in the back of one of the last gift shops that's on a corner.

The margaritas are great.

A lot of good memories there.

We headed back to the room to take a nap with my son before the Muster Drill.

My Dad was next to a guy in the muster drill that went down to one knee but he figured he had too much to drink. He was the one they took off the boat, so I am guessing he had some medical problems.

I was on the same sailing as you and was standing on the other side of the gentlemen who went down on one knee. We were standing next to his wife (or girlfriend). We figured it was him as we thought we recognized the girl friend getting off the boat and into the ambulance.

Your son Ethan was so cute and remember running into him and you on numerous occasions on the ship and on the last day during embarkation.

I'll start Day 3 tomorrow night. If anyone has any questions, please ask away. I will say though that we did not attend any shows, bingo, tea time, etc., except for 1 show one night. I'll have to look through the Fun Times to see which show it was, if I can remember what night it was.

I haven't ever been on the Legend and am just starting to research it as a possibility for a cruise so thanks for this review.

Does the Legend have the Mongolian Wok?

Please tell me how your son happens to like black beans so much. I couldn't get my kids to eat beans, and now that they're grown, they still don't!!

Love the review, thanks for sharing and can't wait to reach more!

Day 3, Belize.......

Today we're in Belize. (Ethan slept through the night) Since we're platinum we only had to go to Guest Services to hang out until we were cleared to start tendering. We were off to a tender by 10am, and they had 2 boats going at once. Dad and Maria went in one line, and we were in the other. Come to find out it was 2 separate boats. After a 20 minute boat ride we got their first, and waited around for Dad and Maria. Once they arrived we walked around to shop first, and then find a guy named Usher. Dad spoke to someone on their boat who said to find Usher to take us to go snorkeling. Dad found him, but he tried pushing us off to another lady. Dad didn't like that, nor her price of $40/per person, so we just grabbed drinks at The Bearded Clam. I got a "Sex on the Beach", Tommy got something similar to a banana daquiri, but that wasn't the name of it, and Dad got a Caribe beer. Total was $17 and left a $3 tip.

A popular bar/restaurant I read up about. We didn't go in though.

Another restaurant on the water / at the pier.

They really built it up since the last time we were there, and they were in the middle of building something else while we were there. There were a lot of vendors trying to get you to do a tour with them.

We decided to head back to the ship and grab some lunch. The boat ride was pretty quick, 15 minutes, and we talked to a crew member that was contracted with Carnival to help tender people. He was very talkative, kind, and informative. I tipped him $2 when we got off.

On the boat ride back.....

Once on board we grabbed lunch. I had a salad, a grilled chicken sandwich, 3 fried shrimp pieces. Ethan ate a little bit of everything. At least he's eating now.

After we ate, Tommy took Ethan to the room to nap, and I went to Serenity to read a magazine. I came back after 30 minutes and Ethan was still napping. He slept about an hour total. Dad and Maria came over to hang out on the balcony after he woke up around 4:30pm.

We were suppose to leave Belize at 5pm, last tender being at 4pm but the last tender boat came back at 5:30pm, which I am guessing was a cruise based excursion. We saw them come in when we were up on Deck 11 at the Water Works / Splash Zone area. Ethan did not like the buckets of water that filled up and then dumped out, but walking around the baby slides was fun splashing around. We headed back to the room at 5:30 to change for dinner. Dinner in the Truffles Restaurant was much better tonight. We brought along one of Ethan's books that entertained him the whole way through, getting him to eat more than he's been eating. Dad and Maria had Bonsai Sushi at 5pm, and weren't hungry so they didn't join us. Tonight I had the shrimp cocktail, and 2 "entree's": grilled chicken & veggies and black bean enchiladas. I quote entrees because the black bean enchiladas could have been an appetizer they were so small. They were excellent. We ordered Ethan the Farfalle turkey alfredo with peas. He wasn't in to the farfalle but he ate a good amount of peas and turkey. Tommy had the shrimp cocktail and Tom Ka Gai (chicken and mushroom soup??) for an appetizer and the Beef Stroganoff for dinner. All of the food tonight was great! (Sorry about not taking pictures of the food. I felt weird snapping pictures at every meal.)

After dinner was done with, and we didn't see anything we like on the dessert menu, we headed to the room to change, drop stuff off and then go find Dad and Maria. We never did find them so we hung out at the Red Frog Pub. Tommy ordered the Rum Sampler, and I ordered the Caribbean Colada. It started getting busier when we left at 8:45pm. When walking back through the casino to get to our room, we saw Dad and Maria at the craps table, so that's where I left Tommy. Ethan and I went to the room for his bedtime. Tomorrow is Roatan. Dad wants to do some snorkeling, so I believe our plan is to eat an early breakfast, and then get off to explore Mahogany Bay Beach for a bit.
