StrikeEagle Posted March 26, 2014 #26 Share Posted March 26, 2014 For those who chose to stay onboard since last Sunday, I'm wondering how many cruise points will they get?
Langley Cruisers Posted March 26, 2014 #27 Share Posted March 26, 2014 (edited) ...Royal does not always do that as we were on the Jewel out of Boston when Hurricane Sandy came in and we did not leave for 2 days, stayed on the ship, no stores open and the Casino was not open because we were in port, and we missed 2 ports in the Southern Caribbean, we did not get a thing for that cruise so I wonder why the navigator got what they got? I'm sure we got our port fees refunded. I remember seeing them as a credit on our account, but no, there was no "compensation", per sé. Remember that on Jewel, we knew we would leave eventually. In the early stages of this oil spill, I'm not sure they thought the same about Navigator - that they would be able to depart at all. I think that's the difference. . Zou Bisou Bisou Posted March 26, 2014 #29 Share Posted March 26, 2014 I wonder what happened with embarkation because when I got off the ship there was an organized line at the door, with two or three employees watching the line and telling folks it would be a while still. Basically around 2 pm everyone showed up at the same time. It was just a mass of people. Once inside the terminal there were ropes to form lines which were short. They could have let more people inside the terminal to ease the crowding. When you got off the ship there were probably far fewer people. I was there. Two woman at the door only letting in a few people at one time. Once inside the terminal the lines were very short.
nelblu Posted March 26, 2014 #30 Share Posted March 26, 2014 A great deal. Given the choice, I would never have left the ship.

Same situation with the fog delay on my 02/23 cruise. A mob of people outside funneled through one set of doors.
