Wippi6 Posted April 1, 2014 #1 Share Posted April 1, 2014 Hello, We are looking at booking the Norwegian Getaway during the kids winter/holiday break. We have 4 kids 16, 14, 5, & 4, me and hubby and my parents. We have been on several RCI cruises over Xmas and have really enjoyed them. There were plenty of kids for all of the kids, teens and little ones for our kids to become friends with. So here is my question, we are thinking of doing the cruise over NYE this year for a change but thought possibly there would be a lot less kids, teens etc… on the NYE cruise and more adults. Can someone let me know their experiences on NYE cruises vs. Xmas ones? Thank you.

Rare geoherb Posted April 1, 2014 #3 Share Posted April 1, 2014 The only New Year's Eve cruise we took began before Christmas. With the way the holiday falls this year, I bet most schools will be closed the full week, meaning lots of families with children will be traveling. Lerin Posted April 1, 2014 #4 Share Posted April 1, 2014 There are tons of kids on NYE cruises, probably not a lot less than the X Mas one. Enjoy
OCruisers Posted April 1, 2014 #5 Share Posted April 1, 2014 Very fun to be on a ship for NYE! Our children liked it better than a Christmas cruise. :D LuLu ~~~
Cruisin' Chick Posted April 1, 2014 #6 Share Posted April 1, 2014 Our last three cruises were the two week Hawaiian ones on Princess that included both Christmas and New Years (the last one ended on January 2nd) -- a lot of fun getting to celebrate both holidays. We're a family of mall rats and usually December is hard on us as it's hard to find parking as we get closer to the 24th. So we don't have to deal with the traffic, parking and ill moods of people back home. And we can go to a NYE party w/o worrying about the drunk drivers on the road.
