Kroozen Posted April 9, 2014 #1 Share Posted April 9, 2014 Any word regarding casino's on ships being allowed to open while docked in Bermuda? I read some news articles, and threads on here, but I couldn't find anything really recent. I know the first ship just docked for the season, so I was hoping someone who was on board would be able to give me some information. I'm sailing to Bermuda next month, and I'm surprising my parents with a cruise for their retirement gift. They love their slot machines!
iheartbda Posted April 9, 2014 #2 Share Posted April 9, 2014 A couple of people who would be on the first sailings said they would report back so I guess you'll have to wait and see if they post.
SailBadtheSinner Posted April 9, 2014 #3 Share Posted April 9, 2014 I've been wondering if the casino had opened. I've been checking the main RCI forum and the roll call for that cruise; also checking RG and BDASUN for an article. I've been coming up with nothing. I've also posted a question to the roll call. Kroozen Posted April 9, 2014 Author #4 Share Posted April 9, 2014 Yes, same here. I also called Royal Caribbean last night, and the rep told me that the 'casinos have always been open while in Bermuda'. I figured I'd get more reliable information on here...I'm hoping to hear something soon though. I don't want to want to get my parents the cruise if they won't be able to use the casino, as that is something they really look forward to. I thought you were already booked and good to go. Have you not booked your parents yet? Just curious.;)
Kroozen Posted April 9, 2014 Author #6 Share Posted April 9, 2014 I'm booked and ready! My parents just retired, so I thought I'd invite them to come along as well. I'm sure they'll still have a great time even without the casino being open, but that would just add to their enjoyment. I'll just go ahead and book it for them today regardless. Just tell them they'll save some money on the off nights. They can still get their slot "fix" on the way to and from in case the casinos are not open.:D
Kroozen Posted April 9, 2014 Author #8 Share Posted April 9, 2014 I took them out to dinner tonight and gave them their cruise tickets. They're thrilled!

meatball_nyc Posted April 10, 2014 #12 Share Posted April 10, 2014 It really makes no difference to me, because I don't gamble. Just wanted Kroozen to know. Thanks. islegroove Posted April 14, 2014 #13 Share Posted April 14, 2014 They are open. I have a friend who is a dealer on Explorer. He had asked for a transfer from the Radiance to that ship because he thought he was going to get a couple of days off and wasn't happy when they opened.
