Thoughts? Experiences with this room or similar RS? I didn't see anything in the sticky. Booked in this room on the transpacific and wondering what to expect. Also open to recent thoughts/opinions on the Millennium...

Not been on Millennium since 2010 and never in 6142 on any M-class ship but have been in other RS on M-class ships. Probably the only real difference between the different M-class ships is whether the balcony has a canvas cover or not - sorry, do not know which it is for Millie. If there is no cover, the balcony is not very private as the people in the cabins above your can look right down on you.

Other than that, the M-class RS are very nice. Although the rooms are dark compared to the Celebrity Suites, they are nowhere near as dark as they appear from the photographs make them see.

The RS are in a very quiet area at the back of the ship with no traffic expect for those in the other suites and staterooms in the area. You will find that there is always one of the butlers or stateroom attendants in the area ensuring that it is very secure.

I love the vanity area of the bedroom with great light from the doors to the balcony and it is nice that the walk-in wardrobe is between the bedroom [rather than in the bedroom] and bathroom so that you can access it without disturbing someone sleeping. Note that there is an additional small wardrobe in the dining area of the sitting room.

We were in RS 6137 (or was it 6135 - can't remember which was RS and which was the connecting CC). It was WONDERFUL! There is a private bedroom with a door so someone could be taking a nap while the other is in the "living room" area. There are 2 sliding doors to the balcony - one is off the "living room" area and the other is off the bedroom. The part of the balcony off the bedroom has the hot tub and is covered by a canvas awning for privacy if you get in the hot tub. There is a dining table and seating for 4 on the balcony off the "living room". There are also 2 lounge chairs - like the ones you might see up on the pool deck. Richard was our butler last year and was just wonderful. You may have someone different since you are on the other side of the ship.

We were in 6142 for a recent 14-day cruise between Hong Kong and Singapore. We were so happy there that we seldom left the suite. Seriously. It was like a one-bedroom apartment, lots of space. Very nicely appointed, although it could use an updating, as could a lot of the rest of the ship. We loved having breakfast every morning in the suite, ordered from our excellent butler. The inside dining table was huge and comfortable. We had friends over for cocktails. Lots, lots, lots of storage space. Huge bathroom with double vanities, jacuzzi & shower. Excellent a/c. Good bed. Big flat screen TVs in both rooms. It was hot, so we did not spend a lot of time on the enormous balcony, although I did use the comfy lounge chairs for some private sun bathing. Way better than any chairs on deck. I would recommend that the leather couches be replaced with furniture that is more ergonomic; I could not find a position with adequate back support. Outside the suite is a wooden floor, and the butler's cart made too much noise running over the wood. Woke us up, since we are late sleepers. On the whole, 6142 was our private retreat, a place to get away from the hubbub of the crowded ship. We were very happy there.

Agree with the above description. We had a RS (can't remember which cabin #) for our 20th anniversary 10 yrs. ago. It was wonderful!! HUGE closet area (actually a walk in closet!), and large bathroom with a jetted tub and separate shower. VERY large veranda- some sun (open to those above you), and some shade (where the hot tub is). You will love it!! Have fun!

We recently sailed in 6140. As has been stated, the balconies on Millie are only partially covered over the tub, the rest is not private or protected from the sun. We agree, the cabins could use some updating, but overall they were very nicely appointed as has been described above. You will be well cared for between your butler (Currently Stojan and Alfred for the PH and RSs) and the Michael's Club Concierge (currently Lucy).

I would not consider sailing in 6140 again due to a smell we had making our balcony nearly unusable, unless they garunteed the issue was fixed. Our neighbors only reported the smell occasionally, so I'd personally be wary to book downwind, but a precious poster didn't report any problems. The ship took some pretty extreme measures to try and solve it, but it never really went away. We live out in the country where the air is pure, so Ive considered that we're more sensitive but the officiers who visited our cabin definite confirmed it was there.

Happy sailing,

Jenna

We had Alfred on the Connie on our transatlantic in 2013. He was great! Can only hope he is on the Mille for our fall 2015 transpacific :)

Ditto! Really hoping that he will still be on Millie in April 2015. Interesting that he is looking after both PH on Millie. He only serviced one on Connie [but did swap sides with us for the second leg of our B2B].

Sorry for the confusion. Stojan, the head butler has one penthouse, and half the RS, Alfred has the PH and Royal Suites on the other side. BOTH butlers are excellent and among the best we've encountered.

Happy sailing,

Jenna
