London to Copenhagen: St. Petersberg 9/14: Safe?

A little late to the discussion, but I wouldn't worry about safety in the Baltic. I suppose it's always possible that locals would be hostile to the U.S. under the current circumstances but I for one wouldn't worry about that. Especially if you are on a private tour (or even an O tour).

I wouldn't advise doing the Black Sea itinerary at this time, however! We loved it two years ago ... but that was two years ago.

Perhaps the bigger issue is if you want to give support to Russia by going there at this time. Some people say they don't care, others say they won't go.

That's YOUR choice.

Mura

P.S. Mura is a Russian name. My Jewish grandparents left the Ukraine i9fter a big pogrom around 1907-1908 ... so I have my own biases. I won't go anywhere in Russia these days, but it isn't because I am afraid to do so.
