Stoffel1982 Posted April 20, 2014 #1 Share Posted April 20, 2014 Hi there, We're going to make this Eastern Mediterranean cruise with Celebrity Reflection this summer and we are wondering if there are busses at every port stop? This will be our itinerary: ROME (CIVITAVECCHIA) - ITALY 5:00 PM SICILY (MESSINA) - ITALY 10:00 AM 7:00 PM AT SEA ATHENS (PIRAEUS) - GREECE 6:00 AM 6:00 PM EPHESUS (KUSADASI) - TURKEY 7:00 AM 6:00 PM RHODES - GREECE 7:00 AM 6:00 PM SANTORINI - GREECE 7:00 AM 6:00 PM MYKONOS - GREECE 7:00 AM 6:00 PM AT SEA NAPLES ROME (CIVITAVECCHIA) - ITALY Thanks for any input! jelayne Posted April 20, 2014 #2 Share Posted April 20, 2014 What type of busses are you referring to? Public busses, ships shuttles to town?? In Santorini ships or tenders dock right by the cable car or if you are adventurous you can climb the stairs. In Mykonos you can walk from the dock to town. We walked to the ship from Kusadasi after being dropped off from our tour to Ephesus.
Stoffel1982 Posted April 20, 2014 Author #3 Share Posted April 20, 2014 Thanks for your answer! I'm talking about the shuttle busses who take you to town. Last year we went on the MSC Divina and their shuttle-service was pretty good. I was just wondering if this is also the case with Celebrity…
Rare Azulann Posted April 20, 2014 #4 Share Posted April 20, 2014 (edited) Both Rome and Athens you will be docked at an industrial port. Need to take a train to Rome or Athens.Santorini, once you take the cable car up to top you can catch a bus to Oia. All other ports you just walk off ship into the town. we did take the local bus form Rhodes to Lindos for the day. I suggest you go to your roll call (found on the first page) for Reflections and your sail date. Also go to ports of call forum for each country. You will find all the information you need to make your decisions about what type of transportation you will need to see what you want to see. I have done the Eastern Med three times and love each and every port of call. enjoy this great part of the world,:) Jsut saw your reply above. Mykonos has shuttles from town to port Edited April 20, 2014 by Azulann
Rare Lois R Posted April 20, 2014 #5 Share Posted April 20, 2014 (edited) Mykonos is easy peasy:D......and it is a lovely city too....just walk around on your own and the ship is right there.......... Same for Rhodes:)....I walked around on my own, went into a Museum, found a cafe,........easy peasy there as well...... The only type of transportation needed in these 2 cities are your feet;) Edited April 20, 2014 by Lois R
