Ok, I've been reading threads and can't seem to find answers! Hope to Get some here!

I am a plus size young woman. I have quite the fear of chairs and being comfortable!

Let's talk size of private balcony chairs, lido deck chairs, sturdy enough and anything else u can think of to help ease my mind! Thanks!!

It really depends on your proportions and how plus-sezed one is.

I mean someone "plus-sized" that wears a size 14 is not going to have any issues.

If any problems were to be found, I'd think it'd be in the bathrooms and possibly the doorways to the cabins/bathrooms.

Most of the time, there is booth seating/or chairs without arms available.

The main theatre and other venues are great on Carnival - most offer lots of bench seating (on the Magic, go to the theatre on deck 3). dining room chairs were fine and they have ones with no arms if you need them.

Spacing between loungers can be very tight making it difficult to manouver so I usually choose one on the end. Try the serenity deck, nice and comfy (though I'd stay away from the hammocks - I can't get into / out of one looking in any way lady like).

Be aware that the pools don't have stairs into them - they only have pool ladders. I used to be okay with them but on my last DCL cruise, I really struggled with the ladder (but I also have a bum knee which didn't want to bend that day).

On the Disabled Cruising Board there is a thread called 'bigger passenger'. Last post was about 20 hours ago.

I'd post the link but I haven't figured out out to do that on the phone app.

Yea I guess that's true although I don't consider 14 a us size so I forget. Thank u for your response!

Thank u!! Yes I noticed that about the pools! I usually stay away from ladders but it looks like I won't have a choice here IF I get into the pools. Ha, as much as if love to lay in a hammock I wouldn't event attempt it! Thanks! What about the chairs at the table on lido? I've seen white plastic ones??! Eeeeek.

I was on the Liberty and if all l things are pretty equal, the only issue I had was the ladder into the one pool... the hoisting out of the water with wet hands.

There are booths in most public places and I had no issues with the dining room chairs... comfy and big enough for me ( size 22. )

I am most assuredly plus size and on the Pride I have never had a real problem. The only thing I can think of is that sometimes the (thin) person who shows you to your seat in the dining room doesn't always pick a path that accommodates my size. Hasn't happened a lot, but has happened. Perhaps some of the Lido deck tables could be a little further apart but still did get through them. No problems in the cabin or balcony. No problems in any of the entertainment venues.

I thank an earlier poster for mentioning no steps into the pool, as my dh and I were discussing whether we would try the pools next time. That seals it. No pools for us. I once had a pool stair break as I was climbing out (size plus old and rotten stair) and I do not wish to repeat that experience!

OMG yes that is where my fear comes from! Bless ur heart. I would be so embad to having to zig zag through tables as my tiny sis forget I'm quite a bit larger than her. I usually find myself having to squeeze between to arms of a chair but sounds like I should be ok! Thank u!

The chairs in the buffet are very sturdy (both the indoor chairs and the outdoor chairs).

Hot tubs have steps so enjoy those freely with no concerns about getting in and out (and some hot tubs aren't really hot - more lukewarm - so nice for a soak and not getting too hot).

I can't speak specifically to this ship, but when I was on the ncl pearl a couple years ago, the toilet area of the cabin bath was sometimes a little tight for my size 24 figure. I'm guessing most cabin bathrooms might be a little snug for larger folks.

My sister and I are both plus size wearing 3-4X and 24 to 26 in sizes. I've never had a problem with any of the seating anywhere on the Magic.

There are no arms on the chairs in the dining rooms, Red Frog Pub or the casino. The chairs outside on the Lido are plastic wicker with arms. The loungers by the pool have arms, but the biggest problem with them is they are very low to get up from.

The steakhouse does have arms on their chairs, but probably have armless available.

Plus size here too and the only problem I ever had was in the dining room- not wending my way through like others mentioned but actually sitting at the tables... If they put you at a two-top it's likely to only have about 8 inches between it and the next table.

After almost knocking someone's drink over with my butt ( ! ) trying to squeeze between the tables I started sitting on the outside seat! Many times you can just approach from the other side which I did often.
