LrgPizza Posted May 1, 2014 #26 Share Posted May 1, 2014 If everyone on the balconies open their dividers, they could throw their bowling balls the length of the ship. That would be kinda cool.
triptolemus Posted May 1, 2014 #27 Share Posted May 1, 2014 Should be able to devise some way to fill the balls with booze, too. Or maple syrup.

AZoceanlovers Posted May 2, 2014 #29 Share Posted May 2, 2014 My husband and I are both fairly serious bowlers (averages 196 and 220) and bowled the first time we were on the Pearl but didn't even mention it the second time. It was fun for a one time thing but nothing like bowling anywhere else. Even if it were allowed, bringing personnel equipment would be a waste of space in the cabins. The lanes are not conditioned and we were excited to get a spare in the 5th frame. Bringing your own bowling shoes might be a good idea as the house shoes didn't slide. The bowling fees were expensive so not really worth it to bowl poorly.
rbrugler Posted May 2, 2014 #30 Share Posted May 2, 2014 Bowling on a ship is a blast, but there is little comparison to normal bowling. And, it costs a fortune. Leave their balls at home. They might want to bring their shoes (I have a thing about wearing shoes others have worn. They will understand what most of us are saying after just a few minutes. HowardK Posted May 3, 2014 #32 Share Posted May 3, 2014 I enjoyed the 5 games I did on the epic- I would have done 15 originally I there were many other things I had a turkey (3 strikes in a row) which was probably due to the ship moving and then couldnt find the pocket! Finished with a 151 but half the score was from the 3 frames. I would have at least liked having my own shoes- Balls were okay, none fit great. runner15km Posted May 3, 2014 #33 Share Posted May 3, 2014 Give NCL a call and see what they say. I find it a little frustrating while out at sea to play Table Tennis, basketball, mini golf and tennis. The movement is just too much. I was going to try bowling but the fees were to high for me. Truluv Posted May 3, 2014 #35 Share Posted May 3, 2014 It would seem that with only 2 lanes for 4000 passengers, that this is one of those things that you just hope to have a chance to try. Hopefully they'll make friends and find a lot of other things to do on the ship.

tenpintap Posted May 3, 2014 #40 Share Posted May 3, 2014 As you can guess from my handle I bowl (actually pretty good, several state championships) bowling on the ship is not quite the same. Don't take your equipment too much trouble. Give it a go just to say you did it. You can also try wi-bowling, its's much easier and remember "if you can't make em, don't leave em) that's bowlers talk!!!
